Mel - what sorts of things do you put in your Christmas notebook? Do you carry it around with you and jot things down when you think of them?

Smilelols - I think I'm going to add a section to mine about what I need to do to organise the house. I think Mel might also be able to help us with that as I think she follows a plan.

Mel - do you have any tips for me? I have very little storage space and I have already taken over with all my craft boxes. I keep the presents I have bought in my bedroom at my mum and dad's, it looks like a very localised hurricane's hit it!

Oooo and a section about decorations and pretty pictures from magazines?

Oooo I've had an idea... Mel - how about doing a scrapbooking page all about Christmas? I haven't attempted scrapbooking before but I am going to try to make an album for boyfriend's mum. I am going to try making other pages first to see how I get on. Do you have any advice?

I am going to set a Rudolph day challenge for me now for later in the year, I think I will make some scrapbook pages all about Christmas; different pictures from magazines, words, phrases, stickers, Christmas carol lyrics, a picture of the Coca Cola Father Christmas, etc.

I am going to the new Centre Court opening today, am so excited! Will be back to read everyone's posts tonight.

JULIE; I love the idea of your tealights and having a label on them (sorry can't help, complete technophobe). I have in the past done some fairly small scale fundraising events as I lost 3 friends to breast cancer and wanted to do something in their memory. If I do any more I will pinch your idea if that is okay!

Change of topic! When I am wrapping my gifts I like to include a Christmas decoration in the ribbon, so they have a new ornament for their tree. I love wrapping and a few years ago a friend was moaning how she hated it, so I half jokingly offered my services.....she accepted and i had a great afternoon wrapping while she cut the tape!!!

I bought , in January, tin crackers ( actual paper cracker size) that had sweets in them. We ate the sweets which were pretty awful really and I now have empty tins that have been saved for my 3, starting a new tradition as I'll get them back to refill! and 2 for my friends little girls who will be about 2 1/2 by then. I have bought their main gifts already (wrapped) but thought if I could get a wee bracelet or nice clasps would put them in. Crackers were down to less than £1 ,I think when I got them.
I had also got lovely felt bags out of WH Smith in their January sale, which the crackers will go in. They are red bags with a reindeer on them. I bought about 8 as they were such a good price! My SIL's and friends ' gifts are in them, tied with lovely ribbon and a wee decoration.

I have got all my friends and extended family's gifts, just my OH and 3 kids to do . I'm buying bits and bobs as I go along and will see what has been requested nearer the time.

Anyway, I am full of the cold and need to get up and about! Enjoy your Sunday, M

  • I found some folders and I've decided I'm using one of them to put Christmas stuff (notes, etc) into. Cant decide which colour to use though. Red or green?

    If you go to www.organizedchristmas.com
    or even
    www.organisedchristmas.com

They are both full of so many ideas for christmas including christmas countdown. Receipes. Gift ideas. Notebook ideas too... Its a great wealth of knowledge thats everything to do with Christmas.. They also have a Rudolph club ;)

As for Christmas Notebooks this was something that was started in one of Jammys' tasks. You basically get a notebook. Christmassy or not its totally your choice. You can even decorate it if it makes you smile. Some people have small notebooks they can carry round. Others like myself have larger ones that stay at home.
Write everyone you have to buy for,( i use 1 page per person)
Under that persons name. I write things that i know they like or enjoy
A rough budget for what i will have to spend on this person.
Then as you shop you can know what to get for each individual or keep an up to date track of what you have bought and spent.

The back of my notebook then is used as a whats where book,
Basically, when i buy things i write it at the back of my notebook. I work on one box at a time, that is stored in the garage.
Everything that gets put into that box gets wrote in the book.
When the box is full its sealed and placed up the loft.
At a time that suits i collect one box from loft and wrap its contents if they need to be wrapped.

So say i buy a hat, glove and scarfy for A , but A decides shes coming at beginning of December to visit... Her gift isnt wrapped though.
I look in my book, get box '6' and then i can wrap it, without having to wade through lots and lots of boxes.

Ive used the front and back of the notebook for the last 3 Christmas's... Each year i just use a paper clip to hold back the used pages and start again.. Its great to be able to remember that in 2005 i bought A a such and such... At least noone gets duplicate gifts either..

I also have a separate book with Christmas gift ideas such as the snowman soup, Reindeer food or a pint of socks
Then at the back of that book is Christmas receipes that we have tried and loved, Ones that are suitable as gifts are in there too such as the flavoured Vodkas that i have made, in 2005 i made 10 different flavours, some i woul remake some i wouldnt... I also have cookie receipes, chocolate slab ideas..

Oh my i have wrote too much again
    Hope it helps :)
furrypig says:my name is Choccy and I am addicted to nose free stamps as I want to save them all and give them noses!!!:rotfl:
About me. Im Choccy or Chocolate orange depending on where i am.Yes occasionally i am a total looon who spends too long online, but no where near as much £ as her spendy elves do ..:D
