    Good news.

Its amazing how getting the media involved gets results in these types of cases.

Shame it has to come to that though.
I'm impressed that the cruise company paid the bill, I would have not expected that especially with such a large bill.

I was impressed with that too. However Jill from ocean Village had been in daily touch and I think she recognised the urgency of it when she spoke to my mil who by that time was telling me that she wished she was dead!

Jem - so happy for you - you may like to mention the insurers after they "came good" (and I'm being nosey to see who it is)

No she got home at around midnight last Friday after I got involved. With the help of the cruise line who paid her hospital bill and her flight home, she was allowed "out" so to speak. However before that the hospital doctor was doing his best to get her home too.

I had already got my MSP involved as well as a newspaper who ran the story last Sunday. The newspaper had been told that a review was taking place.

Well an hour ago I had a phone call from Customer Relations after I phoned earlier to see what was happening. They have decided that the original decision was harsh and will now meet the claim in full! :j:j

A claim form is being sent and I have told them what has already been paid for. All we need to do now is organise the necessary invoices etc.

I believe it was probably the newspaper's involvement that got things moving - either that or someone in Customer Relations finally had some common sense and decency!

Thats fantastic. That must be such a relief for your family and MIL?

Now this is what this is all about, well in my opinion it is, people supporting and helping each other.

Sadly there are no magic words to help all of you who have suffered both from loss and or illness. I wish you all well and good luck in the future.

The injustice the IC appear to be able to inflict on us at will, is absolutely immoral, unethical and should be illegal, the problem with legality is that they employ the services of the countries leading barristers, paid for no doubt through our policy premiums and none payment of genuine claims and their millions of pounds profits year on year.

It’s about time they were brought back into line as their power has become un touchable.

Dacouch…………………..any chance you could provide contact details of the papers you refer to, it is my thought that they would be able to help individuals and that IF enough wrote to them they would see and investigate the whole corrupt Insurance industry.

If we all contacted the same 1 or 2 papers with our stories it may start the ball rolling.

Of course we could also mention this site, if Martin actually cares and or exists in the flesh and is not just another celebrity seeking fella, like that Dom fella, who puts to much into promoting himself as opposed to helping others.
Maybe Martin could have some input in helping as suggested by nco.

    What do you think?

    Pete

Count me in on your group.
I know the Times on Sunday have a travel section with a problem page in it.They might be able to help cases like ours.I agree the more people that write to them the better. Then they might realize how corrupt the insurance industry is as a whole.!!!

Im in the process now of preparing my case for the ombudsman but that is going to take weeks to assess. All i wanted to do was postpone my holiday after my mothers death.
    Hey ho such is life!!!
    Keep up the good work
I will be posting on your forum and i hope others share their experiences on there too.
    Good luck

    Hi

Prepare for a long wait with the Ombudsman, my case is still ongoing after 12 months, hardly suprising with all of the complaints they receive. Don't give up though, but just don't expect a quick outcome ;)

nco41……………I remember your post well, blatant abuse of the small print by the IC, we are not the first or indeed the last to fall victim to their greed.

Thousands upon thousands of policy holders are abused day in day out by these so call professionals, our problem is that we don’t shout it loud enough about the injustice of the Insurance business.

You have only to go to my question of corruption thread, and see how it exposes the bullying mentality of the Insurance Industry there are numerous posters hell bend in covering up the scandal at any cost, they try and covertly cover their tracks and promote the Insurance Industry.

Have you ever wondered how on a Money Saving site there are so many Insurance bodds, lining up to “try” and wash over the obvious imbalance of power held over the policy holder by the IC,s………………….and what’s more they are on here defending and covering and clouding all day…………..who’s paying them?, to say the least………disgraceful.

So………………enter my arena, you are welcome, there are only 6 or 7 of them so its easy for me so far………lol.

All I ask is that you try and hold yourself back somewhat and not splash the water too hard, as the little fish are now planning to get the thread pulled……..so we must be touching some nerves ay?.

I have managed to bring in a few smaller fish, it is my intention to “play them” until the big fish come in…………….

There a few ways to address your problems, it would be wise to plan your action before you show your cards to the axe man the Insurance Company.

A word of advise, there are some on the forum that aint what they make out to be.

So be careful, best chatting some other time in private maybe, if you need any help giz a shout.

ps a word of understanding from genuine people like yourself and others, brushes over a thousand bias words from the Insurance Industry fraternity.

lets expose the Insurance Industry in all its murky water.

    Good luck Mate……all the best.
