Ok, so I'm new to this comping lark, (but already hooked!) so please be gentle with me. Its quite scary how some people like to tell off, complain that you've posted in the wrong thread etc, so I hope this is ok...

"Please post any questions, tips and discussions about anything comp releated in this thread." so says the OP, so I should be ok

I just wanted some advice, and I know there are some really nice, experienced and helpful peeps here (Korky you've already helped me before :A).

This is what I want to know. When the T&Cs don't specifically say only one entry per person/email/address etc, how many times do people enter?

I ask because I wonder if I can increase my chances. Some people on here seem to consistently win. I know, I know, I need to be patient , but wondered if I was missing a trick only entering once.

Hope you guys don't mind a dumb question

Hi Lizzie, unless it specifically says multiple entries allowed or one entry per day i only enter once.

Hi Lizzie, we don't bite, esp not when people have taken the time to look for the right threads to ask questions in hun.

I normally only enter once, unless its per person ans something I really want then dh will enter as well. The only real exception to this for me is the ITV comps where I do the 5 entries allowed in hope of a win. I don't find I have enough time to do more, as there are soooo many comps I like.

I do however enter 100s a week, around 50+ a day normally, and have won a little which I am very happy about. (thank you comping fairy, xxx)

Is there any good way to go about it? You all seem to win things regularly! I cant say i've had any luck at my own pitiful attempts at it

have you read the sticky pages? they give hints and tips.

You don't say how long you have been comping for and it can take a while. I haven't won any biggies but some of the others on here have done.

By the by, this should really have been put in the discussions thread.

I'm in the same boat, I look through the winners list regularily and get very disheartened that everyone seems to be winning but me

If you're new to it all, chances are that many of the comps that you've entered haven't even ended yet.

Looking at the opening page of the site there are just under 6,000 people logged in at this moment. Chances are a lot of them are compers, don't forget that the new posts in the IWIWIW thread only show the people that have won in the last day or two, and they don't amount to that many, so it's not just you that hasn't won on any particular day. Just persevere, it will happen.

There is no secret for the most part, it's just pure luck.

If you are skilled at tie breakers you can increase your chances though...most people are useless at them (me included) so it narrows the field somewhat.
