    Hello all,

This may be a bit of a dumb question, (and I hope it makes sense!?) but...

...when responding by text to a competition entry, and for example you are invited to text:

    DEAL followed by A, B, or C

Does that mean that you add a space after DEAL, or no space?
And does it make a difference?

I'd desperately love to win something, but don't want to waste the SMS entry charge if it's going to be discounted.

    Ta very much!!!

Usually the instructions for text entries specify that you should put a space (e.g. DEAL A), but I don't know whether or not it would still go through without the space.

    Thanks mile_chosette.

I would assume also that you would tend to add a space.

    Fingers crossed!

Regarding competitions that make you register using a phone number then want you to reply for text confirmation, is this a scam? or some sort of expensive sign up scam?

Ive had a few texts telling me to reply to some sign ups but ive never done it thinking they are scams, this right?

I wouldn't personally, depending on what they ask you. If they say it's free to reply then by all means do it, otherwise it would be a big fat no.

Sometimes they give you the chance of doubling your chances by replying again, and if it's a great prize then I occasionally do that.

Sometimes you can subscribe to magazines also, but again I don't do this

Hi... I'm involved with a new website thats going to go live on 1st July. Its going to be a free to play, prize competition site.
Is it against rules to post a link to it????
We'll be running 8-12 games per month, and the prizes have been donated by sponsors of the games. The catch being that you can only play each game once a day and the game/prize is to raise awareness of whoever the sponsor is.
Would be great to let you know about it... Also to let you know what the prizes each month are... And also get feedback from you about the site.

I won't put the link up just yet - but if its ok then I will - and you guys can preregister or just check it out from 1st July if interested????

you won't be able to post links to your own site. However other people can post the comps for you.

If you subscribe to competitions time you *should* get a daily email (i get mine about midnight) which lists the new posts etc through out the day.

Although it is a bit hit and miss - a lot of people report that they haven't had anything for days/weeks at a time.
