jimrog was earlier asking about the odds of winning any competition. I posted this comp on 17/12 to win a touchscreen PC:-

The site has a counter on it, and with 4 days left to enter, only 18267 people have visited the entry form, so if you win it, count yourself lucky!0 -
LOL Don't worry, I have plenty of those moments tooBarnabysue wrote: »I thought it was you that was using the library computer earlier in the thread, sorry, put it down to my age0

I notice that a lot of people ask about how often you might win when entering competitions and that a lot of the replies talk about the number of competitions entered.
Obviously the more comps you enter the more likely you are to win. But the key factor is the odds of winning any individual comp. Can anyone point to any reliable stats about the number of entries which are received by particular comps? I know that comps with tie breakers and local ones tend to receive less entries , but again I would like to see some actual numbers.
There was a competition in The Mirror last Summer to win tickets to the first and second day of each Ashes test match, £500 spending money and one night in a hotel for each of the 5 test matches. I would imagine the prize was worth approaching £2000. To win, you just had to enter a comment on the Mirror website below the competition details stating why you thought you should go. There were only about 40 people who entered. I didn't win but was absolutely gobsmacked there were such a low amount of entries for such a top prize. It definitely gave me hope of winning future competitions. Best Comp Wins

Hi guys - I have never posted here before so hope this is ok. I only started comping in Nov but kept hearing about bonkers so thought I would find out what it was about & found this http://www.bonkersaboutbiscuits.com/form/ Not sure if you already know about it & didn't want to post as not confident about my searching for dupes skills0

I'm not really surprised you didn't win. I once entered one of those Mirror comment competitions and it ended up being that there were fewer entries than there were prizes. I was one of the entrants but still managed to not win. The ASA investigated and apparently they just stuck the competition up on their website and forgot about it. They got a telling off from the ASA, but did I get an apology from The Mirror, let alone a prize?..No :rolleyes:0 -
