hi i was wondering if anyone could help. I received a rubbish winning 2nd prize offering a buy one get one free. However the person showed everyones email addresses and then emails started flying back and forth. I complained to the co and 2 weeks later no apology return of 3 phonecalls. I just rang again and they were rather rude and said ok sorry and that was it. if i had of got an apology straight away i wouldn't be so bothered but i think its rather rude of them. Is there anything i can do as i thought it was legal issue if they give out your details?

Hi anteena. Have you tried the ISP? They overlook the way competitions are conducted.

I had a similar situation recently, when I found out from IWIWIW on MSE that three other MSE winners had been sent my name, address, phone number and email address. I complained and got a full and unreserved apology. I rather put the wind up them by threatening to report them to the information commissioners office,as they were in breach of the Data Protection Act. But the role of the information commissioners office would be to get them to sort their systems out, so that the same thing does not happen again, they would not be interested in trying to get you compensation or an apology or anything. I would suggest looking up Data Protection Act on Wikipedia for starters.
Hope this helps.0 -
I've just had training on the Data Protection Act through work and the fines for not taking care of people's Data are really high. I can't believe they are being so blase about it.Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams

I'm afraid that Club La Costa is timeshare.
This section of the site is just for posting competitions, so I've asked a BG to move your post to a more appropriate home0 -
just received this...anyone else had one ?
Hello,
You recently entered a competition on CityLife.co.uk to win a copy of Slumdog Millionaire on DVD, plus a hamper of Indian food.
Unfortunately, we've had to withdraw this competition, due to circumstances beyond our control.
If you would like to enter any more of our competitions, please do so at www.citylife.co.uk/competitions.
If you have any questions, please feel welcome to contact me.
