Bottle openers come in handy if your making a beer hamper as a gift for someone, so what you deem useless may actually have a use. And there will be many companies you havent heard of and often the less heard of ones have better odds as not as many people have heard of them so dont enter. If your only gonna enter for the biggies you have less chance of winning oh and your never guaranteed a win from any site or company.

Looking at when you first started comping (09/07/2009) there's a fair chance that a lot of the competitions that you entered haven't even ended yet and if they have, it can take weeks before winners are announced. I would suggest you check out the I Won X 3 Thread and that will show you what sort of prizes people are winning. Then it's down to you to decide whether the smaller prizes are worth a go.

I am new to this thread and looking to start entering competitions...I was just hoping for some advise really and what competitions peoplr enter and where to find them etc.

hi all, my mum received a letter from the weekly news in june saying she had won a dvd boxset from this comp ending 11/6:

also i had my name on the full house winners list issue 15 winning a cd from here:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=22565871&postcount=2

but both the prizes have not been received yet. how would i go about chasing them up please?

and scroll down to the section called Winning. No. 7 gives some advice on what to do if prizes don't turn up.

Hi Hayley! :hello:

A great place to start is the Comping Guide which is a sticky thread (stays in the top few threads on page 1) in the Competitions Time Forum (which is where this thread is too!)

If you read the Guide it gives you loads of information in different sections about how to start comping & some ideas of the best way that existing compers have found to do things

Hi, I have always sorted my comps in this order and have not had a problem . All the dates are in order, I used it last night for the comps ending to day 8th Aug and this was fine
