Hi focus, nice to see you back.
I find with the cheap electricals you get what you pay for. A sandwich toaster for £5 will happily toast a sandwich, it might not cut it down the middle very well, it might take a bit of time, it might even be trickier to clean than a more expensive one but it should toast your sarnie & last a little while. If you pay a bit more for one its likely to last even longer, give a more even brown colour, toast faster etc.
All depends exactly what you want out of it, but it shouldnt break after a couple of weeks, if it does you should take it back as faulty. You cant take a step forward with both feet on the ground0 -

thanks for your advice sylphraven, how much would you say is an ok price? i dont want something too cheap or too expensive. would £20 for an electric gadget seem good quality?0 -
I find best buying goods quite difficult at times focus. A freind of mine bought a couple of lovely (and expensive) kettles that then didn't last longer than a year and she decided to buy tesco value after that!
If I am making a special purchase I try and look up the recommendations in Which magazine as they will cover a wide price range and often there is a best budget buy. Spending more does not always mean it is necessarily better and it really depends on what is the most important thing for you ie as Sylph said how easy it is to clean v quality of toasty v price etc etc. Which will often answer those questions for me! Hope that helps!0 -
So Jammy has said she is only here at the weekends and hasn't come on to say hi yet this weekend by the looks of things! Come out come out wherever you are!
I am rubbish and have made about 0 pence since last month so will not have much to say on the 1st!0 -
I think £20 is a very realistic price, it'll get you a nice one, but without going over the top in price
Jammys away this weekend, but said she'd have internet access so I'm sure shes keeping an eye on us.You cant take a step forward with both feet on the ground0 -
Sorry furry, as sylph said I was away until now!

Aww listening to Michael Jackson Number 1's! I'm feeling really sad that he died, I personally don't believe any of the rubbish in the papers, and feel sorry for a talented but seriously troubled "boy man" (as Paul McCartney said). I love his music but wasn't his 'fan' if you know what I mean!
mum2one - shadowexplorer http://www.shadowexplorer.com/downloads.html it isn't the easiest to use, and not sure you can get things back if you haven't had the programme on your pc already BUT i reccommend downloading it now incase this happens again as you will be able to recover the document!
