Buffy, if you start to get nervous, imagine us lot behind you, cheering you on and being proud of you for handling such a difficult situation as well as you possibly can.

If that doesn't work, imagine us all ganging up on him and kicking his heed in! :D

I'd really like to imagine him being beaten up.

Trouble is honey, the more you worry about it the more stressed you will be tomorrow and then it becomes more likely that it will go wrong. So, you need to take control of the random worrying.

I'll let you into a little secret, I get horrible stage fright. No one knows, they all think I am mrs 'nothing phases me'. But sometimes I'm so bad I get physically sick.

I know I am good at my job but there is a part of me that feels that everyone else is better and I'm just blagging it. For years after every gig i think to myself 'fooled them again' And honestly, that's how I feel, I'm fooling everyone.

So, what do I do? well, before I leave the house I let the nerves do their thing, I don't try to hold it in or block it out. I spend a fair bit of time in the bathroom :) Once the full force of that panic is over, I breathe deeply, close my eyes and focus. I find that my mind works overtime a bit, I get the 'crap it's all going to go wrong, I'm terrible, I can't do this' thoughts, but I also get the odd, 'yes I can, I've done this loads of times' why am I worried, I'm pretty good at it really' thoughts too. So, I start to focus on my very best gigs ever, the times when I really got the buzz, those moments on stage when you see the whole band become one instrument and subconsciously each band member moves towards the kit' I hold that thought and keep it there... and I tell myself I can blag it again. Once I get to that point I find the adrenalin works in my favour and I perform better than when I'm not so nervous. And here's the thing, everyone else is exactly the same, they all try to tell you they are super confident and great at their job, but most of them are as insecure and worried as you are.

You need to find something in the room which is your focus spot, is there something you can look at, I dunno but think of anything that you can use to look at if you feel that things are getting out of control. It’s better to pause for a second or two to compose yourself than it is to let it all spiral. I have a black mark on a cymbal stand that I use. When you need it, look at it and remind yourself of the times you have felt really good and super confident at work.

Remember also that no one in that room wants you to fail, everyone wants you to do great, as you usually do, the only difference is someone else is there to see how good you are and how well you teach. Think of that person as someone who is there to learn from you too, they are learning your unique and individual style. And, it’s a style that obviously works really well doesn’t it? The kids clearly think so.

Wow Toto. thnak you. especially when you have so much on your mind right now.

He probably does want me to fail but the kids don't.

and now I shall have you lot there in my head and my script - which I am writing.

I have to prep a special needs sheet.... I had one but its not whizzy enough.

Thank you all so much, just being able to say I am frightened has put things into perspective.

No idea. I don't actually need the writing on the keys to know which ones they are...sad eh?

Logitech are a reasonable brand, but don't know what their keyboards are like.
