So how can they give 2 quotes? Is that to guarentee business?

they obviously sub contracted out to get the work done... Milly is just as good tho. So its probably a good thing theyve realised that they're not going to get stuff done in time and are thinking f alternative plans of action.

Re: Linda's comment - I dont think this will effect you rebekah but Milly is more expensive than landy by quite a bit tho isnt it?

I didn't get 2 quotes. I emailed Landy about a dress I wanted making from pictures and someone from Milly emailed me back withe the quote and went from there really! She has taken into consideration what I want doing with the top of the bust coming down an inch or so and I've decided to also see how it looks with a little U/V lol in the neckline of the bust to show a little cleavage. They asked to confirm my measurements as the dress doesnt look very curvy! Good job they did. I've lost 1 inch off my bust *Sob*, 2 off my waist and 3 off my hips!

RebekahR - Where did you get your backup dress from?

I have ordered my dress with Milly beginning of July to have it delivered by the 31th August and they did not even start the process... Getting slightly panicky because I need my dress to be with me on the 14 Sep...

I keep reminding them that I need it but they keep telling me that they will start soon....

I'm thinking to phone them in the next few days, maybe speaking direcly to them helps...

Back up dress was from Milly as well actually! Oh honey you dont need to worry yet! My wedding is 2 weeks today and they haven't even started making it yet. They have 1 week until they need to ship it. It has to be here by Monday 10th September. I've been emailing them weekly to remind them. Do the same!

Thanks for that I do feel a bit better.I keep emailing them but will certainly now look for a backup dress - maybe a rent option.... Would be a shame because I would love "my" dress to turn up....
Oh well...
Do you recon they are able to make the dress in such a short timeframe... and post it???

I have no idea tbh! The girls thread I have hijacked had hers posted out in time I think.Not sure what the end time frame was but it was close! I had to get a back up one otherwise my nerves wouldn't have coped! Well tbh they aren't any way! I'm getting doses of cold sores every 2-4 weeks at the moment since we have been engaged!!!
They have to post it by the 2 day post instead of 5 day 1 because it NEEDS to be here 1 week tomorrow. I have an appointment the very next day at a dress shop incase it needs altering.

I looked at the renting option but the only thing with that is you can't change the size at all to fit you and tbh I wouldn't know where to go for one! I did look around the net in our local area unsuccessfully.

Phew... :Tthey sent me my test dress pictures now and told me below....

....I understand you are very anxious now, once test dress, confirmed, we will cut at once, we can finish in 6-7days.We will use the quickest express to ship it to you,that may take 2-3days to arrive.....

I hope everything goes ok now and I can try to relax now a little bit...

So i've now asked for 3/4 inch as I found the but bit too high on my other dress.
What do you guys think?

I've a good mind just to tell them to get on with it as it has to be here this time next week!!
