Right then to be honest if a dca owns it that is bad enough, why worry about late payment markers when the account name will be robinson way or whatever? every lender that searches will know its a sold debt so in essence he'd have been better never paying, however he has so we move forward.
His file is trashed mate - simple really and for the length of time the account is valid, i.e. until its paid off then it will be 6yrs from that date so like 8yrs time or whatever!
My advice, nip it in the bid now and take the 6yrs hit from today! But then again its up to him, he already made a few major errors.....2010 - year of the troll

NO! Only if the account is put into dispute as I mentioned but that means cease payments. Therefore you need to send the letter as instructed on last page that I done for you (here #137) and see what they say - this is officially putting the account into dispute at the same time you officially instruct them to remove any data due to the dispute.
You're hoping they raise issue to the cessation of payment at which point you'll then say remove all data and i'll pay again or leave the data and you get nothing.... i'll do the legal route and win either way. see what they say - i'd like to think they will agree and remove data in swap for future payments!
They do not have to remove the entry just cos they have no cca - they cannot enforce the debt; the entry 'can' remain - I say the word can very loosely mate.....2010 - year of the troll

Mate this can be read several ways and I read it to mean the following....
They are confirming that the DMP will be removed - not that the whole account will be removed
ooooooer - sorry but me thinks they agreed to remove the DMP - not the whole account.2010 - year of the troll
