ok , horror story
are you all sitting comfy??
friend of mine went to the states and left her mum in charge of the house for 3 months, unfortunately, mums sister took ill so mum charged off to look after her switching the electricity off in friends house as she left.
so, when said friend returned with me cos I picked her up from the airport, we were greeted by a bit of a whiff.
then we opened the freezer and the whiff nearly blew us out of the house,
and in amongst the rotted contents of the freezer were
hundreds of red, horrible wriggly worms!!
where did they come from?? had to be somewhere in the food didnt they???
eeeeeeeeeeewwwwwww0 -
Did you know it costs you more to run a half filled freezer than a full one so I save ice cream tubs, fill them with water and freeze it, if my freezer is half full or I fill it up with cheap supermarket loaves as these can be used over time.0

didn't know that about half empty freezer, thought it would have been cheaper with less in. Anyway filled the space with water filled ice cream tubs and old yellow pages, till i go shopping, hope it works.
Ta for the tip.0 -
Fit more food in the freezer by taking the food out of the boxes before loading it in. Most food has been wrapped in plastic as well as the box eg. pizza. Then write the cooking time and temperature on with a marker pen.
You can take advantage of more offers in the shop, thenBulletproof0 -
... filled the space with ... old yellow pages...
I can just imagine being a visitor to your house, opening the freezer for some reason and then seeing it full of old Yellow Pages. My thoughts would go something like:??? ::)

I remember moving my fridge once and found a mouse below it, didn't go in the kitchen at night foir ages, the thought of it watchiong me from below the fridge, eeeegh! Glad I didn't find it IN the freezer, think I'd have passed out.and in amongst the rotted contents of the freezer were
hundreds of red, horrible wriggly worms!!

What i do is find all the odd stuff that falls of packets like burgers and sausages and cook them all up. The kids love to pick and choose what they want.
An added bonus to this that one of the kids will pick something the claimed they didn't like the week before so you can catch them red handed0
