British Gas immediate 10% cut in Standard Tariff electricity prices

Just worked out my last bill as if it were on the new rates for my tariff, CE4. It was £76.17, now it works out as £72.13, approximately 5.3% lower. On CE4 the decrease is all taken from the Tier 2 charge, Tier 1 dropping by .001 of a penny, so higher users will save more comparitively.
What is the percentage difference between your old and new tarrif, not your bill? As BG say electricity prices, not quarterly bills.0 -

It doesnt say that the online prices are dropping though does it? The way I read it is that online prices are already cheap so they wont be dropping,
I read it the same as you. Where are those mirrors and the smoke machine?0 -
I've noticed that Click Enery 6 is now obsolete. Does anyone know if Websaver 3 is a better deal?0

Click Energy 6
The good news is we're dropping our electricity prices and from 7th May 2009 you will be paying less for your electricity. As a Click Energy 6 customer your prices will decrease on average 5%1 and your prices will be on average £1102 less than our Standard tariff.

As my CE4 Tier 1 price only reduced by 0.001p, the cut is taken from the Tier 2 price. That was 9.143p, now 8.370p which is 8.45% lower.
Regarding CE6 and Websaver 3, these figures are for Northern:-
23.077/ 9.268 Websaver 3 inc VAT @ 5%
21.827/ 8.765 CE6 inc VAT @ 5%
The Tier 1/Tier 2 threshold is the same for both, 125kWh per quarter. Whether it's a better deal is down to the your region, prices, discounts and usage.0 -
The prices on the websaver tariffs should get the same drop as the Standard prices as they guarentee to be 6% cheaper, wouldnt be too sure about the click tariffs though.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!
