Not yet, going to do it on Saturday. Spent a cold morning stringing up the outside lights etc this morning ready for the weekend big switch on. Gave them a quick test at lunch time and it looked like Las Vegas.

My youngest is now 20 years old but still expects a choccy advent calender! (and a stocking!!) The 27 year old expects that as well!! Does this mean I went wrong somewhere or does it mean that they have great memories of Christmas past and want them to continue?

Now I must get up into the loft and find the cloth one I got from Barnardos some years ago and where did I put all those choccy coins? Oh dear, oh dear ::)

Thanks 160 Just brought a lump to my throat thinking of that! they grow up so quickly you have to make the most of it don't you!

They still expect me to play old Bing Crosby records on Christmas Eve as well while we open up the tins of sweets and pretend to open up the big quality street tin for the first time ( cos really my daughter and I opened it up weeks before, scoffed most of the soft centres and resealed tin with cellotape!! :-[) we then complain loudly that quality street tins don't contain as many soft centres as they use to!! lol

The house across the road from us put their lights up at the weekend.
    OMG
Talk about overkill. Amusingly some "merry revellers" had tipped over the christmas tree on their way home from the pub on Sat night! ;D
I'm not in favour of vandalism as a whole, but I think their point was more "it's a bit early" than malicious violence

I have visions of this very patched up santa by christmas eve - covered in bits of insulation tape & sticking plaster & looking decidedly worse for wear!
