"I still don't understand why you continue to vehemently oppose the House Network model"
I'm not vehemntly opposed to it, merely unconvinced. I've briefly looked at their site, considered the number of agents they have spread around England & Wales, in comparison with the sales figures they claim, and other factors, and it doesn't sway me when I compare it to what's available in my own area.
Point 1 - I'm especially unconvinced that Housenetwork's internet-only model is the way to go, for anyone anywhere in the UK. I'd want more. The local agents around me offer more than just website promotion; print, high-street, buyer searches, etc.
In my area, Rightmove barely shows one sixth of what's available, and most of that seems to merely duplicate the primary entries on the agents' own sites.
Around 85% of the available property is on the agents' sites only, and not on Rightmove.
Housenetwork has no listings in Scotland at all.
Point 2 - There's no benefit to anyone selling in my area to have their property on Rightmove or Housenetwork. It may be the first port of call to those in the heartland of England & Wales, but not here.0 -
weve recently used housenetwork and sold our property completed 3 weeks ago ..
The photos and floorplan were really good - unfortuantely the agent wasn't from the area and couldnt give us a approx valuation - so we got some usual EA's round and went with what they said.
you have to show viewers around the property but i enjoyed this - and we bought a sign for £20
we paid £248 + vat up front and the same on completion and i rekon that saved us easily £2k so was well worth it and yes they are on rightmove.0 -
Unconvinced is fair enough googler but several posts on nearly every thread about House Network is a bit much. You try really quite hard to convince people not to use a service that you've never used either?
This is moneysavingexpert. Housenetwork is one way to save a lot of money. If you'd had a really bad experience fair enough but you've had no experience - I should think one post is enough to let people know that you don't think it's up to much.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Obviously a bitter estate agent, i would definately use the house nestwork if i was selling 80% of houses that are sold are on right move, housenetwork cover this and at a fraction of the cost, if you want to pay big fees fro someone to answer a phone then fill your boots.
And dont come out with the rubbish, they can get you higher prices, has its a load of flannel.I am not a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as not being a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. That's fine although it's a terrible definition you've given there of a forum. It's exactly why I'm comfortable telling you, and everyone else, that you take your somewhat unsubstantiated opinion a bit too far, to the detriment of the moneysaving principle because HN does work and it does save money.
Having used HN three times with success; In terms of comparing standards with a high street EA, House Network still offer better value for money despite what it appears to lack. As long as the vendor is proactive and can take responsibility for and be pragmatic about their asking price then they can sell.
They aren't an excellent estate agency offering personal service (there aren't many of those out there at all!) but they are the perfect marketing tool for someone who might otherwise feel confident about selling their own house but understands the importance to get word out to a decent sized, wider audience through the use of property portals that they wouldn't have access to as a private seller.
I'm just a bit tired of having to keep posting and arguing round in circles with you again after when you've overtaken a thread again trying to compare apples and oranges. No you won't get a full, comprehensive babysitting/estate agency service (you don't with most agents anyway) but you're not paying for one either!!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I took it from a well-known dictionary - which is why I put it in quotes.

Well, I didn't think I was arguing with you - I thought I was part of the audience participation, but there ya go.....0 -
