FREE Pay As You Go broadband dongle

I've been playing about with my O2 e160 and as we know they are unlocked and accepting other sims, is it necessary to use the generic software over O2's connection manager to enable me to use my virgin / 3 pay as you go sims.
I have been trying to connect but each time after 7 secs I am getting no connection even though the networks are being recognised.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance
ps Sussed it all now, yes I did need the generic software to use the other sims
You dont need other software to use other sims, im using the o2 software and using a 3 sim in it, and ive used a Voda sim in it, you just need to add the right details into the software0 -
my card keeps getting refused.
could any1 buy it for me?
(of cos the delivery add. is my add.)
i will bank transfer the £ online + £1 to say thank you:beer:
*sorry if this is not allowed here0 -

Thanks for the reply. I found out that I failed to enter the APNs correctly hence my problem, all well now albeit after installing the generic software...Doh!0 -
I am glad i read through the thread and saw the information about the generic software. I plan to install this and give it ago as i often use my iPhone simcard in my dongle and the o2 software seems to take over my wireless which i hate as it seems to run into problems at times and there is not an option to turn it off without uninstalling!
Thanks.Things that are free in life are great, well most of the time :beer:0 -

dc-unlocker now allows this dongle to be unlocked free. recieved an email from them last night0

From the website it states:
From today (2009-06-08) 17:00 GMT ZTE MF627,MF636 / MF636BP, Vodafone E3735, K2540, Huawei E219, E510, E176, E180 unlock is free and unlimited for DC-unlocker dongle users and activated Vygis dongle users.
I guess you still need to buy a VYGIS unlocker dongle from them though, bit expensive for the average user0 -
Ordered 22/05/09 and received within a week. Checking my Egg account today and found two fraud transactions for £25 each for a Vodafone top-up dated 06/06/09. In six years of online shopping never had a problem until this. Had to block card and get new cards sent out. All my other transaction were at normal safe stores.0

OMG - I've just checked my credit card account and there were no fraudulant transactions, no additional unexpected transactions and the balance is correct. !!!!!!!
Whats going on? Should I ring up Micro P to complain?0
