Just to say I got mine ok. I didn't bother fiddling with my bank card, and there are no dodgy transactions. Thanks to the OP.0

Paid for it online yesterday evening, looking forward to it's arrival
Should come in handy for a long coach journey that's planned in the summer... Hopefully National Express won't charge £5 to sit down on that!Hi, I've already asked and been granted for permission via PM for a Help for Heroes link. Pfft.
As my previous signature said, I support Help for Heroes0

Thanks for that link, i have only just started using Linux so its still a bit confusing after being tied to Windows for all those years. i have looked at ubuntu and like the look of it but not sure about the method of download i know that with windows you can just update over the existing os but not sure with linux Thanks for that link, i have only just started using Linux so its still a bit confusing after being tied to Windows for all those years. i have looked at ubuntu and like the look of it but not sure about the method of download i know that with windows you can just update over the existing os but not sure with linux
I just installed Ubuntu 9.04 on a new laptop which by choice came with no operating system.
With no Windows tax to pay for, the laptop cost £279, and that bought a Core 2 Duo (T5800), 2GB DDR2, 160GB, DVDRW, 1280x800 15.4", etc..
The Ubuntu installation was loads easier than installing Windows, and it took a fraction of the time.
There is now some dead-easy GUI tool for configuring all the network connections in Ubuntu, not least for configuring mobile broadband including '3'. Everything just worked.. WLAN, ethernet and 3G!
If you are worried about overwriting your existing Windows installation with Linux - and re-partitioning a disk with data already on it can be a bit hair-raising - then you might want to buy a second hard disk, just for Linux..
The Linux installer will then write a new MBR onto the first disk, with a dual boot option using "grub".. choose '1' to boot Wind0ws, choose '2' for Linux..0

Watching the "quantity available" slowly go down over the last few days (another lot of stock has been added to the total today though) would suggest that they've sold OVER 10,000 of them
I've been wondering whether to get one as a back-up for my HUAWEI E160G that I've got on 3 contract - £4.95 for another dongle that I could just put my contract SIM into in the event that it went wrong seems worth it, OR as an emergency for the PAYG whilst 3 got it replaced etc...
However if I do proceed, like someone mentioned earlier, I've got a Cahoot account & debit card and I'll use the WEBCARD facility that comes with it.
Means that I can create a USE ONCE "debit card number" with a maximum value of my choice.
So I make it for£4.95 enter the "unique one-shot number" and it doesn't matter if anyone sees what it is, since it can never be used again

            Important notice
Had a call today from Barclaycard fraud prevention, there has definitely been attempts to verify my card in the USA. One for fuel. This is almost certainly connected with the 3dongle website, directly or indirectly, since that website is the only one I had ever used that card on.
Now the naysayers will realise the importance of website security. You can be sure that my card will not be the only one.
Another company used to verify my card was this one; NBX.
If people use an up to date version of Internet Explorer there should be no problem. All the important parts of the site are secure.
The site is dodgy with Firefox and Opera I would say.
Before you jump to conclusions about security issues I think we'd need to know a bit more about your own secuirty on your machine and what crap is on there. And add to this coincidences of credit card fraud. If you have some real evidence let's see it.
I've used my card on the site as many 1000s of other people have and had no problems except for it being crap to use.0

            I have received the dongle.
It works with Skype without any topup !!!
It also lets me connect to inernet without any credit, Will it charge me latter as they have my card details that I used to buy the card?
 Thanks to the OP.0

Are you sure it's the dongle that's connecting to the web? Seems unlikely without adding credit first. If you're using wireless at home then remember to turn that off before trying the dongle...0
