did anyone actually order from that site and if so...did you get them???

I ordered one and it arrived two days later. I did use an account with very little money in it, but I'm not concerned about the security aspect now tbh.

The benifits are you can put in another providers sim into it. So if you are in the US and get a payg internet sim there you can use it with this modem.
Also with the Vodaphone topup it is not time limited, but costs more (£15/1Gb V vs £15/3Gb 3), so you could unlock it, put in a Vodaphone sim and top up (Total about £30 apparently) and have 1Gb that doesn't expire in a month, great if you are a VERY low user. (I have a 3 Contract 1Gb, and found that last week on holiday I managed to use nearly the whole Gb ) But normally I don't use that much and 1Gb is fine for me.

Brilliant post thank you! Basically everything I wanted to know! :j

This would be OK if you could buy a Vodaphone sim. They do not sell them separately you will only get one if you purchase the modem from them

Well my reading of the the Vodaphone payg sim, seems to imply that you can use any sim as a BMM, all you need to do is add the top up as internet not voice. I have one on its way to try (free from thier site :T) Will check it out when I recieve it.

From their site http://help.vodafone.co.uk/system/selfservice.controller?CMD=VIEW_ARTICLE&ARTICLE_ID=2064&PARTITION_ID=1&CONFIGURATION=1000&CURRENT_CMD=BROWSE_TOPIC&SIDE_LINK_TOPIC_ID=1005&SIDE_LINK_SUB_TOPIC_ID=1049&SIDE_LINK_TOPIC_INDEX=null&SIDE_LINK_SUB_TOPIC_INDEX=null
Can I use my existing SIM for 3G broadband?

Yes, as long as you have a 3G broadband-enabled device.
There will be no changes needed to the SIM, but you should check that you are setup with the best data priceplan for you.

You can access the internet on your Vodafone phone sim, but you will not get the PAYG mobile internet rates. You pay 50p per day to access up to 25MB of data on your phone, you will be charged extra if you go over the limit and the credit expires after 24 hours if you don't use it.

The only way to get the internet sim is to buy it with a Vodafone dongle.

But for £29 after quidco you can buy a vodafone dongle with £15 credit. No hassle of unlocking, £1 cheaper, no sim card swopping when swopping between networks.

Checked my VISA CC account today and found that 2 payments for £4.95 had been taken, despite my first attempt yesterday showing up as "The credit card payment for order n°22216 has been refused."
Hmmmmm
