Received mine today, not tried it yet. One thing that I'm concerned about, if I topup by entering a voucher code, before I select the 1Gb add on, could data usage from other applications (e.g. auto update, antivirus update etc) use some of the £10 credit at £1 per Mb, leaving not enough to buy the add on?Next year we'll be millionaires!0

Don't be lazy. Browse the thread.
Don't be rude. I'd also like to know the benefits of unlocking it and I have read the whole thread. Not everyone is as technically savvy as you. I've never unlocked a mobile phone, but I understand why someone might want to do that, but I don't understand why anyone would want to unlock this dongle. Are SIM cards for dongles and mobile phones interchangeable?
I asked earlier if how easy to use this dongle as I've never used one before. I wanted to know if it would be basically plug and play and that it wouldn't mess up my home wireless network settings.
You kindly replied
"Plug in.. software begins to install. When fully installed, it should produce a portal in which you can place your sign in details.
That's it.
Note: An educated guess."
I hope this is right as I really don't want to start having to work out what went wrong!Numpties...I'm surrounded by them...save me...:whistle:0 -

Also with the Vodaphone topup it is not time limited, but costs more (£15/1Gb V vs £15/3Gb 3), so you could unlock it, put in a Vodaphone sim and top up (Total about £30 apparently) and have 1Gb that doesn't expire in a month, great if you are a VERY low user. (I have a 3 Contract 1Gb, and found that last week on holiday I managed to use nearly the whole Gb ) But normally I don't use that much and 1Gb is fine for me.Registered Linux user #497422 :beer:0
