well done thats what i'd be doing, they cannot hurt you anymore and so long as that default is there they have you over a barrel.

Yeah, that's exactly why I got the refund. The bloke wasn't going to give me one at first but I kept bombarding him with questions etc so he put me on hold for ages then said he'd refund it :D

I think I misunderstood something I read about the defaults coming off from when you settled the debt; I know now it goes off from when it was registered as defaulted. I have 4 years and 9 months to wait until it's off, but not the end of the world!

I will send off those template letters to try and get the default removed. If I can I'll try and pay the debt off sooner.

I applied on the 7th I think, I rang them a couple of hours later and was told I was 'provisionally accepted'. Got a phone call on landline around the 9th I think. Card received today (16th), PIN should be here within 5 working days.

    Have you rung them Katie?

I have just rang it says:

" if applied within the last three weeks there in the process of dealing with application if you have been approved you will get your card within 14 days then cuts off "

I think they must have a back log

I applied on the 5th and I called up today, all they will say is that I will receive a call but would not tell me anything else. So annoying!

If its a no they should say no! Rather than playing games with me. People get accepted and people get declined, they wont hurt my feeling by saying NO, lol

    Well I called Aqua today!

Got Declined, they said I failed scoring which I think is stupid as the card is meant to help people with a poor credit history,

    Oh well!

    Hi all, Im new here.

I applied for a vanquis card on the 18th yet not heard anything. Iv tried to phone but get message saying that will hear from them within 3wks. They have done a credit search through experian.

Should i take this as a decline or does anyone know a number to get through to someone for an answer?

I have a capital one card with £1700.00 limit:beer: (searched equifax)

I have also applied for a barclaycard and awaiting a decision, yet no credit search. They used to use equifax.

Turned down for AQUA (equifax), Monument (Call Credit)

    I have 4 defaulted accounts.

Congrats on the limit with Capital One, that's a pretty hefty initial limit on a sub-prime

Hopefully you'll get the Vanquis as well, keep us updated :D
