The bloke said I'd been initially approved and someone would phone me to ask me a few questions. Said I didn't need to sign anything in hard copy as I'd already signed the contract online when I applied. Other people have said this means I've been accepted. Not got a call yet but it was only yesterday.0

I got my phone call today. I have the Vanquis card: starting limit of £250, 39.9% APR.0

I've spoken to him in depth about the default and he is getting someone from their department to ring me to discuss it.
So the default will drop off my account after 6 years anyway, but with this plan I should have paid it off after about 2 years so will then mark as settled.
I really need the money at the moment as don't know when I'll be able to find a job, the only reason I paid it was to try and be shot of them but they are still going to be haunting me for 6 years regardless of whether I've settled the account or not!
The bloke reckoned that after 3 years a settled default is pretty much disregarded by credit companies - anyone know if this is true?
In answer to your question the default will remain for 6yrs, so until 2014. This is clearly printed at the bottom of your screenshot of Experian that you uploaded.....
Pay if you want but pointless really but after paying the £700 or whatever I think you should now agree that they remove default and restore back to all green 0's and then you'll carry on with £25 payments
Seems like wrong timing i'm afraid, you should have come here b4 paying silly money to them.2010 - year of the troll

NID I put in that text you quoted that I had got a refund off them for the £700 minus the minimum payment, which was £13.
I am not going to pay them off yet as can't afford it and only will if they agree to remove the default.
Otherwise I'll just pay them back £25 a month until debt is cleared0 -
well done thats what i'd be doing, they cannot hurt you anymore and so long as that default is there they have you over a barrel.
stand firm - they cannot do anything - legally or otherwise. you will get your way if they want paying! Keep us updated please2010 - year of the troll
