Really annoyed with GR. I was not particularly impressed that one of the shops I was down to do today had 4 parts, 2 to do on the phone and 2 in store, actually the same scenario to do in both cases. Talk about trying to get 2 for 1. Anyhow it said that the phone call had to seem like it was entirely separate from the visit, and should be done the day before.

I wasn't able to do the call yesterday, so thought it would be best to do the visit today and call tomorrow, as this was all still within their range of dates. I sent them a mail after I had done the visit, letting them know that I would be putting the results on tomorrow because the call was being done then. And now they are saying that they won't pay me. Soooooooo annoying.

And please before people starting putting red letter shouty messages about reading the brief, I did read it, just thought that it wouldn't matter as the 2 sections were specifically mentioned as being separate enquiries. Think they are just being stupid.

What part did they list first in the brief? I would have done that one first

    HI
I have applied to TERN, but before I go out and do the unpaid trial shop, can anyone tell me if they know if they cover the essex area (ilford, romford etc)
    thanks:beer:
I don't think you have a to do an unpaid trial shop, I tyhink that is how they position it to you, but in actual fact, you can just use the feedback from a visit you've done for someone else.

Agree with you (which will probably surprise you!). Ok, so it told you to do the call firstm, which, taking it to the letter you should've done, but if they're clear about them being 2 seperate "tasks", what does it matter which order you do them in?

Have you completed the report for this visit yet? If so, I'd send them an email explaining that as they're not paying you, the contents of the report are your intellectual property, and you do not authorise them to use it in anyway, and that they must delete the contants immediately. Ok, it might or might not get you your fee, but at least it'll make them think twice...

Thanks for the reply. I was just so irritated with them for being so pig headed, as it can't matter in the slightest, but will send them another mail. Guess I just have to write off that fee to experience.

They seem to cover the whole of the UK.

As UKM said, just use a previous mystery shop for the unpaid one.

Good company, fair fees, quick payers.

Interesting u-turn on bank jobs from TNS.

Haven't looked at the brief, but email says the client has 'relaxed the criteria'. Sounds more like TNS realised they were never going to get enough people to get all those jobs done!
    Now proud Mumto3 :j
