i asked for that but i have to wait and see what happens by thursday, the job i most wanted has now gone. hopefully i will be out of my probation period soon and then i wont have this problem again! everywhere else ive not had this sort of problem i just click on the job and do the work.
I had the same problem when I first started working for RE too. The first job I got was great, but I had to wait three weeks to do it, so missed out on two or three others in the mean time!

I am totally confused now,Most of my assignments that I have done so far involve drinks and meals out for which I get reimbursed for,are you saying that these are tax free .Since I am employed I asked the tax people to tax me on earnings of 40.00 per month for MS but if meals are not included in that I am giving them too much.Help!

Most people appear to take the view that anything you HAVE to buy to do the job is an expense and not taxable, And I'm sure that you don't actually EAT any of the 'awful' food that you HAVE to buy do you ?

Also, I'm not sure what you have agreed with the tax people. If you are doing any MS work on a S/E basis ie no tax stopped by the companies, you have to inform the tax office of your self employed status. And you will need to do a tax return every year with details of all your income, paye and s/e etc.

I'm sure there are other people on here who can give advice.

I have had some very nice meals out and some not so good but Im still here to tell the tale.I thought that 40.00 per month was all I could earn being in fulltime employment and only available weekends and I told the tax people that and they put it on my yearly tax form so I pay tax as I go along but now that food is an "expense" I do not earn near the amount that I said I would.I will have to give them a call and get it sorted out.I dont want to give them any more than I need to .

When I did my first RE job I had to wait until they had proof read and approved the job before it moved from pending to 'due on .... ' , at that time I was then allowed to book more jobs. My DH signed up recently too and is still waiting for a job he did at the weekend to be approved and cant take anything else , so I think thats just the way it is with RE , hopefully it wont be too long before they read your report and approve it .

hi thats correct - option 1 that is ;)
on my to do list on right hand side i have no active jobs.
on my payment section left hand side it says pending 1 payment which is the payment for that job.
so i am just stuck in limbo now being able to see jobs but apply for nothing - their answer was it should be ok by thursday and if not call back then. i thought theyd sort it out their end and allocate me the job but that obviously is not possible  now i maybe understand the problems with RE :D

It's quite straightforward. RE want to know you produce the reports to the standard they need before they'll allow you to do any work. Therefore, you won't be able to get any more jobs until they've approved your first one. And believe me, RE do not rush themselves checking reports. This one you just have to wait on really - you probably won't get them to speed up by hassling them on the phone, you'll just annoy them.

Just had one of the oddest questions so far on a brief, did the staff member pass the phone or magazine to me with 1 or 2 hands? Why do they want to know this? Do you think it is some underlying psychological message that is meant to be conveyed or just checking my observational skills.

But for the record it was 2 hands, hope that was right and the poor girl doesn't get into trouble for it.

I think 2 hands is just a bit more engaging.....perhaps the client has some Japanese influence?

You can add clients onto ABA-i by doing the following:

Go to the web address: http://www.aba-i.co.uk/nl/*CLIENT NAME HERE*/

The client name for the phone shop is a mixture of red and yellow. And the slogan is "The futures bright"

Click on register, and put your username in and press select, it will ask a few questions and then your done!
Thanks for this. I have got it now although no shops for me.
