I did my first betting job on Saturday and won £26!!!! I've never betted before so I just picked a random race and an easy-to-remember horse name on the website on Friday night. I couldn't believe it when my son told me the horse won because I don't even know how to check the result!

I won £750 once on a mystery shopping betting assignment.:money:

Incidentally I think this is more than Retaileyes spent on their new website. They need to get some new hamster wheels.

I wish I had that luck.....maybe I'll bet on the odd next time.

With regards to claiming for travel costs, what if you don't have a car but are paying for travelcards on the days you are doing MS?

First time poster and only started MS last week. Been catching up on the forum and getting loads on info form you guys. Thanks :D

I think that there may be some betting jobs in my area. I have never been in a betting shop, and never placed a bet before. Don't want to say no, if a job like this comes up, but don't want to appear like an idiot if I do take one of these jobs.
Mes1214, what was it like? Where they easy, fool proof assignments?

Also whilst I remember reimbursements are my other not sure about section. For example if for one company I earn £10 to do mystery shop and buy £20 worth of goods to be reimbursed they will pay me £30. But the actual earnings were £10 so what happens to reimbursement - I guess it still counts as income?

Some companies pay up to the re-imbusement amount so if you are given a senario to buy something with an allowance of £10 but only spend £5 you will only get £5 and some will pay the full £10, its worth reading the job notes carefully to see if they say "up to" or not.
As a general rule of thumb for your other question if you get to keep the goods eg groceries, jeans etc then it counts as payment in kind and so is taxable. If the assessment of the product is part of the job eg pizza or drink etc then it is expenses and are not included in your taxable income. HTH
Couldn't think of anything witty to say so just keeping the space until I can :(

If you're referring to the ones for GAP, then yes, I think they are pretty straightforward, you're assessing the cleanliness, the service and you need to place a simple bet.

It was not difficult at all, just go in, write the betting slip and go to the counter. Also ask to use the toilet, the one I did had a separate toilet for female and was really clean. The only thing I felt a bit uncomfortable was that other than the girl at the counter I was the only woman placing a bet in the shop! Good luck if you decide to take it.
