I've only done a couple of jobs with Bare because there isn't many in my area, and I don't fit the age criteria as I am over 35. Some of the clothes shops are for 20-30yrs old and the mobile phone shops are for 20-35yrs old and alot of the shops seem to be in London whereas I'm in Northern England.

Just looking on my RE points account, and there are 2 transactions I don't understand, both have given me one point, one says "Abu Dhabi Branch Survey completed" and the other says "Deira Branch Survey completed". Any idea what this is all about?
That made me LOL. Just be glad they didn't knock points off you for doing the Abu Dhabi survey wrong. :rotfl:I bet some poor shopper in Deira is wondering where their points have got to.

I've contacted RE once already to tell them that they have overpaid me (3 times for the same job). The next payment has just gone through without the deduction. Should I tell them or keep schtum?

If you've told them, then that's all you can do. They might be going to knock it off the next payment. Or else they think you deserve a little bonus.

    Hi

Im new to ms so this will be my first month of doing the books - i have done books for other small businesses. My queries all relate to what counts as expenses or not. any links to stuff about this would be fantastic as I need to know Ive got it all right. Expenses so far:

Printer cartridge - with one job no printing of pages included £15.00
printer cartirdge refill (as above) £5
all printed pages at 6p a sheet - is this the correct amount???
    Paper £5
car park tickets - all different prices
miles - each mile at 40p
25% of broadband and telephone bill
    10% of mobile top up
    10% electricity/gas

I am also unsure about drinks? On Saturday I did 5 jobs in two towns so approx 70miles of driving and out of the house for 7 hours so I had to buy drinks - can I count these as expenses?

If these percentages are wrong or can be increased can someone please let me know - finding those bits hard as usually done this for a business from an office and not work from home.

You can't claim printing expenses (cartridges/paper etc) as well as 6p per sheet - it's one or the other as the 6p per sheet is to reimburse you for paying for these yourself....

Check up on electric and gas - I would not do this, instead do say £10 per month use of home; this covers all the home costs of running your business (in reality, a desk is as much space as you use so proportionally, £10 is more than enough).

Mileage do 40p per mile as it's supposed to reimburse you for the wear and tear of the car too.

See the OP for more info.

Thank you - I tried to say going to do printer cartridge and printer refills needed this month for two of the jobs and no printing of pages. But I didnt explain what I meant very well

I am going to be in minus figures so not sure how MS is helping really and Im worried about when council look at it  theyve just reduced our mini amount of help with council tax from £5 to £3 a week and now we have to make repayments of £150 (i will be appealing) :(((((( this is without any change of circumstances but they seem to be incapable of calculating our account. Weve had SO much hassle from them since September - taking paperwork down on weekly basis that we are at the stage of stopping our claim and being worse off so they dont suddenly demand repayments when we dont even think we have been overpaid. It is a complete and utter nightmare. So moment they see my paperwork they wont have a clue what it means  Do other people have the same problems or is it just us????
