Did anyone get the Gfk email? Are they reimbursing the cost of signing up for it as well or do you just get the fee?
I did a similar job about 18 months ago, you have to sign up and give bank details, then as soon as you receive the membership pack, you return it to GFK and they contact the company concerned and they cancel everything. Payment doesn't usually come out for a few weeks so you don't actually ever have to pay for the membership.

HI all, it's been a while since I've been on this thread but I spoke to Retail Eyes recently and they say they have 300 new shoppers signing up per week. I literally, at gone 3am, saw EVERY pub visit in Merseyside vanish before my eyes.
What are you saying about Scousers FE? That they like to drink, take everything from in front of your eyes and are up at odd hours?:rotfl:

Peformance in People Ltd, or a representative such as a mystery shopper, may use your address when giving over false details on a mystery shopping visit.
    • We will inform you of when this address has been used.
Is it just me, or is that a bit dodgy? What sort of things would they falsely use my address for?

Hi, Kate, I personally wouldn't worry about this. I am guessing that they will use your address when they ring up companies to request information about things, leaflets, marketing brochures etc. then they want to see how long it takes to arrive.

I had a job like this for GFK - easiest £3.00 I ever made. I let them have a car brochure sent to my address and all I had to do was tell them when it arrived and then bin (recycle:A) it.

On a (slightly) related note, I used to do the Royal Mail postal survey. They pay you in (lots of) books of stamps each month. All I had to do was to post letters in the box at the end of my road or in the box at the local post office about once a fortnight and agree to receive mail from someone at the other end doing the same thing. I was writing to a lovely man in Cardiff:cool: (blank letters, of course) and then he was writing back to me:wink: (again, blank). I got fed up trying to remember to do it after a while but it was a nice easy job while it lasted.

It's up to you, of course, but I wouldn't worry - it will be leaflets and marketing brochures, I'll wager....

Once a fortnight? You were lucky, I do the Royal Mail survey and I've had 10 items to post in the last fortnight. There is a thread on here, if people want more info on this, but I think they are full in most areas currently from what other people have said.

:rotfl:mmmm, I guess that's part of what I mean about failing to remember my duties....!! :rotfl: It started off fairly low level but quickly escalated - I thought they might send me a uniform next and one of those red trollies!!:j

Why are RE signing up 300 people per week - do they get 300 extra jobs every week?

Surely they could afford to be a little more selective (like other companies) and just take people in areas where they actually need shoppers?

It must be all the starry eyed newcomers that are happy to do the jobs with no fee & being told what to eat and drink.
    Now proud Mumto3 :j

The thing is, though, people sign up and don't necessarily ever do any jobs for them. I've just counted and I've got 37 people on my referral list and only one of them has actually done a job for them.

I have to say, once you've done 3 or 4 of them, you actually realise they aren't that bad at all ..... :rotfl:

I agree. The questionnaires aren't good because they show every dept and not just the ones you have to visit. You just need to remember to log in to TNS and look at your visit description to narrow down the ones you need to visit. Why they can't have specific ones for each scenario as Gap do, I don't know. OMG are Gap actually better at something than TNS?!?

It is worth signing up, even if they don't take you on, tho, as they send you quite a few 1st class stamps anyway, for your trouble. I'm sure someone will post the link again. It was on here about 3 threads ago!

I've also just been re-contacted last week to ask if I'm still interested. I said yes, so will see how it pans out.

I can't see any spas on Tern, only sport & leisure centres in Wales - is that what is meant?
