But cash loss jobs are absolutely, completely pointless, if you're in the business to make money - which coupled with the fact that that client's pizza is pretty awful anyway, does not make for a great sounding job!

If you enjoy that pizza and are not in it to make money then great...

Yeah, horses for courses - I do quite a few jobs that are a paper loss as I mainly do this for the "freebies". I tend to avoid jobs that only have a fee, as usually I don't think it's enough and am happy enough to have a meal / haircut / fuel / stamps that I don't have to pay for and make a loss.
  • Just a bit of a heads up really. There has been a certain wave of jobs this weekend for Assosia which was marked as Private and Confidential. I recieved an e-mail this morning asking people to be extra careful as they had been made aware that some people had been discussing the jobs on open forums such as MoneySavingExpert. It was a polite enough e-mail but I think we need to make sure that we are extra careful when it comes to Assosia.

I got this as well. It said "some of their associates" had let them know that the job was being discussed on open forums such as MSE. OK, so who's the snitch in the camp?? No one said what the product was or anything. I do think sometimes their a bit over the top with this stuff.

Glad it went to others as wondered if they were testing who it went to, to try and identify some of us on here

Oops! I seem to have logged in under a different name. I wonder why :D
  • I got the email too , I wonder if it went out to everyone who did the work for them ????

Got my car circuit finished today , yay ! Poor salesmen though I do hate getting their hopes up.... !

Got quite a busy week now about a dozen pretty decent jobs on top of todays 5 salesrooms and 2 petrol places.

Maybe, although I think Timmne said he got one and didn't do any work? I got one and I agree I don't think anything we've said has breached anything really.

Maybe they do actually monitor this board and read it, so it wasn't someone who's snitched on us? Mind you, I remember someone else saying that they'd been informed on by someone on here about something they'd mentioned. It might have been Hollypear? Jobsworths or what!

Assosia have removed people from their list in the past for breach of confidentiality, so if people who take this seriously are called jobsworths and snitches, then so be it. At least we are professional in our approach.

Whoever it was that informed Assosia, thank you and well done. I wish I'd have thought of it myself.

I think we mystery shoppers need somewhere to chat, somewhere to be able to go and discuss the jobs, something like a school staff room where the teachers can go to talk about the children without breaching confidentiality. This is an open forum where anyone can read what is written.

I don't think what was said about the jobs over the weekend was really a breach of confidentiallity, I read everything but still only know that a MS company was paying people to go and buy all some shops stock of a particular drink. I don't know what the product is, or which shops are involved.

Maybe the MS companies need to provide forums for us to talk to each other once we have logged in. We do need somewhere to go to sound off, ask advice and provide support to each other.

I did my first 2 car sales jobs today and have three booked for tomorrow. I did do one ages ago for a really really pricy car which I felt totally ridiculous pretending to be interested in! All three now have offered a pathetic discount compared to the target price, but then have refused to budge on this price and won't throw in any extras.

I thought I was good at haggling but not having much luck, don't want the company thinking I didn't try hard enough as I really did today but they were not having any of it.

Does anyone have any tips on getting a better second offer and/ non cash offers?

    Thanks
