Did a TNS coffee job today. Had to order a coffee and a wafer biscuit. Went with a friend who sat opposite me eating a mouth watering Almond Croissant and there was me nibbling on this vile thing that tasted like corrugated cardboard - no, actually, the cardboard would have been tastier.
I think my ordering this and asking for a receipt flashed alerts with the Barista because as soon as he'd served me, he went over to a colleague, and 2 minutes later there she was in the toilet SCRUBBING the walls and floor, PMSL!
My friend was desperate for the loo and had to wait about 15 minutes until the girl had finished cleaning it, LOL!!!We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

There was no need for extensive notes - I just printed out the (very brief) questionnaire and just circled the bits I needed to ask about. My call literally went "Hi I'd like a replacement X for my X car." He said "Sorry, we don't offer that part/service". "Oh, ok, thanks for your time". The report only took me about 3 minutes so, personally, I think it was worth my time for the reduced fee.
I've done bits of work for Bare for about 3 years and I think this is the first 'problem' I've had - overall I'm happy with them.
No worries. I am in a particularly good mood today, so maybe I'm being especially lenient - perhaps if this had been last week when I had a filthy episode of PMT I might have been less relaxed about it :rotfl:
Based on the information here, I just called them and gave them a piece of my mind. And now, they have agreed to reimburse me only half the said amount. Still unfair, but something's better than nothing at all I suppose

I wonder if any of you experienced MS'ers can give me some advice please? Is there an easier or cheaper way of printing off the assignment notes/instructions as some of them are pages and pages, and on some jobs the cost of the paper and ink really eats into the fees?
Also, do all of the MS companys pay automatically (if they are happy with the report), or do you have to invoice them or claim it?
Many thanks (in advance)0 -

You could try saving them on your computer instead...
Some companies ask you to invoice them, others just pay once they've approved the report.0 -

I used to print them off, but like you, it used to use loads of paper and ink and I found I rarely filled them in.
So I purchased A5 notebook and I use a page per job to write down everything I need to do - the basics are time in, time out, what's left & right, name & description of staff member, then list any other info I need by looking at the assignment notes online. Once I've done the job I just staple the receipt or whatever to the piece of paper and file that away.
If I've got a busy day it does take quite a while to write everything out, but once you've been doing it a while you start to use your own shorthand and it makes it all much easier. We’ve had to remove your signature. I'm a bit sneaky on this one... if I do print out questionnaires - I usually do it at work. You can try setting it to print 2 pages per sheet of paper - the writing becomes quite small, but you're saving half the paper!
If you can print doublesided, that'll save paper but not ink.
You're best bet (apart from printing at work!) would be to print double sided with 2 pages per sheet.TWBM 2010 Wishlist:

For some jobs I put the main questions into a text document with blank spaces for the answers and email it to my phone. If you're doing several jobs with the same brief, it saves writing it out repeatedly. Also, you can sneak a look at the questions when you're in the shop by pretending you're checking a text.0
