Anyone else doing the regular audits for A******? I've just had an email saying I have to do the extra covert audit, too, and I'm not too happy about it. Just wondered how others feel?

Yes, I've got one, and they're paying me half the fee for the ones that didn't stock the part.

I've appealed, and they've said that this is the same payment as if the shop was closed.

I think it is a real shocker!

Well, for what my opinion is worth, I think it's disgusting! If they have provided you with a list of companies to ring then they should pay. End of story. I could kind of see a justification if they just told you to go through the phone book and pick them at random, but not if they told you who to ring.

If they wanted to know whether these companies stocked the part before handing out assignments then they could have... oh I don't know, maybe got some mystery shoppers to ring round and find out... and PAY THEM for doing the job!

When I first started looking into mystery shopping (almost a year ago) I remember there being loads of negative comments about Bare taking ages to pay or not paying... then they seemed to go ok but now it looks as if they have relapsed.

I did 5 garages - one of them didn't offer the part/service required. I received an email from Bare to say that the fee would be reduced by 50% for that garage. This doesn't bother me - the call was literally seconds, so I hardly had to write anything for the report - very easy money.

In which case I trust it was made clear in the notes before you accepted the job that they would not pay the 'agreed fee' if the place did not stock the part? Regardless of whether the phonecall only took a few seconds and the report was easy to write up - you still had to prepare for the job and write notes (well, I always spend time reading the notes and writing a tick sheet for phonecalls)... So all that effort was free, then.

I'm sorry if people think I'm being unreasonable (I'm feeling that way today, I guess;)) but I think this is unfair - if you take on a job at an agreed fee they shouldn't be able to move the goalposts afterwards. I mean, how would they like it if they offered a job with 2 questions for you to ask and you went back afterwards and said oh I forgot to ask the second question, just pay me for the first one. Would you expect them to be happy with that???

By the way, I haven't done any of these jobs so I'm not directly involved and have no personal axe to grind, I just think this is very unprofessional and unfair.

    Hi
I just checked my e-mails and have received one form Bare, I did one call for them (after they called and begged me to do it), I called 5-6 times and did not get an answer, Half the fee for me, I would NOT of done it if I had known.....
  • How odd , Ive double checked and definately havent got an email, my shopper log shows the rate as initially agreed and for the extras the rate as agreed too ..... I had quite a few that didnt stock the part and were very quick phonecalls so at the end of the day I like laughing cow I dont really mind , but it still isnt right ........
Perhaps they are waiting for me to complete the garage circuit and then telling me ... !
    Thanks for the replies .

Agh, my bare garage calls were not so easy, and one didn't give me a price! I called both garages as instructed, and both said that I would have to call back within 30 minutes. I re-called, and one told me to try again in an hour, while I left my number for the other to return my call. I tried a 3rd time for the first garage, and was again told to call back later. At that point I contacted Bare, who asked me to try one more time the next day. The next day the first garage was able to give me a price, while the second told me that he hadn't returned my call because he spoke to my husband (?!?) who kept calling him for a price. He was not happy, and told me that he couldn't get the part. All of these calls added up, and filling out the forms with unusual answers means that it took forever!
