    Morning peeps

the weather is cold and drizzly today  my garden plans for the last two days have been scuppered because of this. I`ve just been out on slug watch with the tub of salt though - they will not eat my plants this year!
I got soaked and i`ve only been out for about 15 mins altogether.

I shall be walking the houndies shortly so another soaking is on the way. I shall however go out later and earth up my potatoes, it shouldn`t take long as they are in bags.

Redruby - my roller blind must be a bit different to yours as there is no small hole To feed the cord through. I`ve put my curtains back up which i was avoiding doing until the blind was fixed and wrapped the cord around the rail under the curtains so it looks normal for the time being but it will annoy me after a while. DH and i have come to the conclusion that its broken as we`ve tried everything that we can think of so we shall get another one at some point - or maybe have a change and get another type or a decent net. Thanks for helping though :A

I`ve taken some gammon out of the freezer so tonight we are having gammon, scrambled eggs, mushrooms, beans and tomatoes and later i shall be making MSD`s apple cake.

The cupboard in the living room will be sorted out today as it`s become a dumping ground for allsorts of rubbish, most of the things in there don`t belong there so it will be a big job as it`s a huge cupboard and then i shall have some space which is much needed.

I also need to sort out my shopping bills for the GC, we are hardly into May and i`ve spent most of my budget already  we will make it this month if it kills me as next month has a lot of large outgoings as the car tax, insurance etc is all due and if i remember rightly the last payment on my car :j it`s a bigger payment than usual but i shall be so glad when it`s finally finished as i can pay some other bits and bobs that i`ve been putting off :D I`ve been saving vouchers towards a new mixer/food processor for a while now as my old one has seen better days but i`m astonished to see that it still actually works, DH and i decided that the money would be better spent towards a new vacuum cleaner as the last one has turned into something that we hate using. we went for the bank holiday offer at argos where we got a free £50 gift voucher so all in all it was a good deal. The best thing about it was that DH wanted to unpack the new cleaner and test it - he hoovered the entire house whilst i sat chuckling away to myself :D lets hope this is something that he does more often now :D

Sunnygirl - Hope everything goes well at the hospital today ((((HUGS)))) for you and your family

I shall get my coat on and brave the rain in the park.

    Have a good one peeps.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

    :hello:Good morning!

Chilly out there today, but when I came down the kitchen/diner was really warm because I accidentally left the oven on low all night :o I've had to open the window as it's much too warm in here!

Best wishes to your Dad sunnygirl

Good luck with the school redruby

Welcome back Charlie's mum - nice to see you!

Hello christabell :wave:I'll be trying to rest today!

I think there's some mince lurking in the freezer so as it's a bit dreary today I think dinner will be something like cottage pie. Got a cauli that needs using up - i'd forgotten it was there :o I think my brain's gone on holiday

    Hi all

Bit of a washout here for BH too:rolleyes:
OH and I enjoyed our weekend away and a beautiful Michelin star meal then on sunday it was back to reality;).....am searching for another nice weekend possibly for our anniversary ( 3 years together)in Nov and also somewhere nice for my 40th:obirthday next march.
We bought a tent and other camping stuff this week as we are going to start staying overnight when we go on our walks:D
DS arrived back from his dads sun lunchtime with raging conjunctavitis:rolleyes: so he is on 2 hourly eye drops at the mo which he gets distressed about and I feel like the worst mum alive........he is off school today so have had to take carers leave....the NHS love it when you do that;) so will not be popular next week but tough.....
My mum is arriving today from Edinburgh to stay till sat so that will be nice:D
Have all meals planned and wondering whether to make some cakes today but she is on a diet
We are going shopping looking at wedding dresses and shoes for me for next Xmas.

Hugs to all who need them

    Morning all,

SunnyGirl, Thinking of you all today. I hope all goes well with your dad's op.
redruby, I hope you manage to speak to someone at the school today.
Penny Pincher, sorry to hear your feeling rough.
Haribo, hope you have a safe journey.
Noah's PM, I don't envy you having to give him eye drops every two hours. I hope it clears up soon.
    Aussie, congrats on your wins.
Charlie's mum, good to see you posting again.

It's wet and miserable here. I needed to drop some paperwork into the office which is usually a five minute drive away but stupidly I went in rush hour after I dropped ds2 off at school and it was a 45 minute round trip. I feel sorry for people who have to do that every morning just to get to work.

It's drying up a bit now so I might get some time in the garden. I've cleared and added manure to a long narrow bed and need to think about what veg I want to plant in it. Apart from that I want to clear up the aftermath of the long weekend and perhaps do a bit of baking. Tea tonight will be something with mince. I'm fed up with bolognese, lasagne, chilli and shepherds pie so working my way through the More exciting mince recipes thread to see if I can find some inspiration.

I hope everyone has a good day.

Pink winged - try bobotie - http://www.recipesworldwide.org/courses/main-course/bobotie I have a version from the Farmhouse Kitchen somewhere which is incredibly successful. Also can add nuts/dried fruit etc. Think fifties curry for additions.
