Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for 5th May. This is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly, but if not, it's not a problem.
Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Daily Threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning. Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good!

Morning all

Late start on here today, I must admit it was a bit of a struggle getting up, I have lots to do today, house needs a good clean right through, at least three loads of washing to do, and its not looking good for drying

I need to do an online shop, make some cakes, the car needs cleaning out and the lawn needs mowing, but it looks like rain, so they might have to wait.

I also have to phone the school, have been trying to get to speak to someone since Thursday, I am getting cross now, as this is my dd's education we are talking about, so I can see myself getting cross today

Chicken today, might do mash and salad with it, but might do a roast, will see what the weather does.

Ok better get on, have good days all, and hugs where needed xx

Edited to say, hugs to Sunnygirl today, hope your dads op goes well xxx

Morning Redruby! And everyone else that follows on!!!

I can't believe what a let down the BH weather was. The way it was portrayed I was expecting glorious sunshine. What we actually got was one day of sunny intervals with a cold wind, cloud and cold wind and cloud and drizzle. And it's not looking too bright this morning either :(
Had a good day of baking yesterday. Made some pastry for a chicken and onion quiche (yum!) and had some left over so made a peach and custard tart type thing. Very yummy and I think my was dad was pleased as I gave half to my parents for their dessert after dinner.
Trying to decide what to do for tea. Went through my meal plans the weekend and added a couple more receipes but looking at this weeks it's not exactly getting my juices going........
    Have a good OS day.

    Good Morning All

Yes BH was a let down here as well apart from Saturday which was lovely and warm. Ended up at a local RHS gardens yesterday but it was freezing. Gardens were lovely but it was too pricy to get in, and as for the price of their plants . We wanted some Lillies which were £6.99 a plant there, got them instead at the nursery down the road - 5 for £10. Anyway spent more money than expected at the weekend so must ebay more stuff this week.

Not too much OS unfortunately today as its office day, have a massive in pile and to do list. Should get loads done this week as OH is training everyday for his HGV test on Friday. I havnt had this much time on my own in the house for years :j I am much more productive on my own.

Need to menu plan today and also do an online Tesco shop. Oops also need to update April & start May's grocery challenge.

Really shouldnt be hanging about here then - have a great day.

Redruby - hope you get on OK with the school.
Best wishes for your Dad today Sunnygirl.
(((hugs))) to anyone who needs one.

    Morning everyone,

Well I'm pleased to say that our holiday weather yesterday was glorious. :p:D It was lovely today as well. Been a bit weary today, had a rubbish sleep. Must have been all the excitement from Bingo. I won 4 times. :D Just pottered around doing the usual household chores this morning. Cut out a bag to sew tomorrow. DGS arrived just after lunch.

DS2 & he have just gone down to the shop. I've warned DS2 not to buy him much rubbish as it will spoil his tea. He's already had pineapple, carrot, grapes & 2 crackers with vegemite for afternoon tea. :D

Ruby Good luck with the school.
Sunnygirl Hope all goes well with your Dad.

I'm making some macaroni & salmon dish I've never tried for tea tonight. Soup first though. <hugs> to those under par. Hope you all have a lovely day. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Morning all

Haven't posted on the daily thread for a while, and what has happened to it. In the good old days, we would have been on page 3 by now

Dreadful weather here yesterday, and this morning it is drizzling, so not looking good for today.

New grandson due any day now, so keeping my mobile switched on and jumping every time it rings :rotfl:

Very lazy dinner tonight, I'm working, so have some leftover chicken in the Remoska, with cook in sauce, jacket pots and veg.

Have a good day everyone x
