Have you looked up freecycle? http://www.freecycle.org/group/UK ? I'm pretty sure if you ask for stuff there, you will soon get a pair of loppers, and pretty much any handtool you need.

Thanks Tomterm8, yes I've asked a couple of times but nobody has ever contacted me, maybe I'll again :)

Garden has gone pear-shaped, I was ill for a month with broncitus, then vertigo, then a mouth ulcer, then the torrential rain and wind started....now my garden is all green again :(

I won't be able to do much this week as OH is at work, eldest DD is in Spain and I've got the 2 small ones indoors, the garden is too dangerous to take them into at the moment with the brambles. If the weather is good at the weekend when OH is home I will make a new start on it, try to get what I had done back to where it was. Then next week I will continue as I meant to go on :D

ETA: there are some lovely looking blackberries in there though, might venture out with a bowl later, when it gets dark obviously so the neighbours don't see :D

Dangerous brambles? How old are the kids? What do you think is going to happen? If they get pricked, it's no big deal. They'll be more careful next time!

Waves to Jo - enjoy the brambles by darkness - isn't htat a bit dangerous as brambles are well kinda dark as well??? - how did you get on with getting some tools organised?

    Hugs me dear - x

Haven't managed to get anything yet, it seems everyone WANTS garden stuff on freecycle, nobody is ever offering it lol.

I reckon the blackberries will be ready in the next day or two, I'm going to wait for DD1 to come back from hols tomorrow and I'll send her out here lol. Looking forward to getting back out there and chopping again :)
