Oh - forgot to tell you all!!!

Yesterday, when I was leaving for work I put some wet washing in the TD so it would be dry when i came home. I keep my tumble dryer in the garage so I just carried the washing out with me when i locked up the house, put it in the dryer, then jumped straight in the car and went to work.

Well when I came home I discovered that Id dropped a pair of knickers - a black thong to be precise on the path!!!! And they lay there all day!!

To make things worse, the delivery men came with my new coffee table that I ordered weeks ago when I got my bonus, and they left it by the door - alomost right next to the pair of discarded undies!!!!

It wouldnt have been so bad if no-one saw them!!! But they did, I cant believe it!

    At least they were clean!
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I bet it made the delivery man's day!

Afternoon all not much to report

AF decided to play an early visit which would explain why I turned all tearful and fed up at about 4pm yesterday!

DS2 has done a lot of sorting out in his room, not finished yet as he got called up to join DS1 at a men's cricket match who were short of players - he's chuffed - he's only 13 and the size of a 10 year old.

I've stripped our bed. A gardener I know who has a coppice turned up this morning with some dogwood I'd asked him for so I could repair the willow hurdle fencing yet again - cats! So I've been busy doing that - nearly finished. I'd like to get my peas planted out today too.

We have been debating whether or not to go for a loft conversion for sometime now to get a bigger bedroom for DS3 and a shower room. Well I've had a really great book out the library about building one and I've been up there with DS2 today to measure and it really would not be worth the cost or the distruption to the house. So Plan B is to convert the garage (which is off the kitchen) in to a utility room with a shower in it to get the extra shower. Also to build a wall in DS1 bedroom so he looses about 75cm but it would create a large built in wardrobe/drawer unit - one accessed from his room and one accessed from DS3 box room next door. Feel really much more settled now and just need to get DH to ok it all and then start planning - hope to get some done before the end of the year and the VAT going back on.

rosepink i hate when that happens. something doesn't work for me and i play around for hours and dh comes pushed the button and dadaaa ... works fine!!!
Yeah, and he gave me this look like: what were you making a fuss about? Hope you sell the house soon babe

Congratulations Vanilla and Mr Vanilla, so happy to hear your baby has arrived safely! Don’t rush back to flying, enjoy your baby

Hugs Quillion, take it easy. You can be our cheerleader along with Toots and Lady Liberty

GnB hope you are feeling better today

Hope you have a great holiday Rach

Congratulations Soappie on finishing your job. I know you will make plan B work, you are a determined lady. Is it the party today? Have a great time

    Hugs Frodders

Oddjob, that’s really interesting about your family history. 1836 is a long way back. I know someone who was in Barnardos as a child.

Lilme, the WIL situation is quite sad really. She’s missing out on so much by ignoring her grandchildren, and your DH must feel bad knowing she only spends time with him for what she get from him, instead of because she loves him. It’s a sad way to live. I can totally understand why you don’t like her, she sounds awful. I feel sorry for your boys, hope they aren’t hurt by her behaviour

    What are tetrapacks?

Toochoosey, hugs right back at ya, hope AF goes soon

Princess Jane, hugs and :eek:about the fuel bill! That’s a lot! Good that your friend wants to sort things out between you

DH has just got insurance for his pickup. Last year it was £850, this year £460! What a mahooosive saving! We are very happy!

I've got a feeling he's going to watch the rugby now. So I might go back to bed, or clean the bathroom, but what I really want to do is persuade him to go for a short walk with me. It looks great outside.

I must clean the bathroom and wash up today. Those are my goals for the day.

greenbee we are waiting for our tip to resume normal hours again. it's being refurbished (i am in berkshire :D ) - i've got lots to get rid of :o - but will freecycle first!

Sorry to hear you're not getting a decent offer for your house. I think everyone is trying to get bargains at the moment - remember, that if you don't HAVE to sell, then they have to offer you enough for you to want to sell (and make that clear to the estate agents). Maybe taking it off the market at the end of this contract and having a break will help. Have you thought of trying to sell without an agent?

Definitely try the freecycling - I have got rid of:

    a kitchen wall unit
    2 sacks plastic plant pots
    3 outside lights
some bits for organising the inside of drawers

and have two people who want an old hiking pole (which means I'll have to make a decision )

It'll be good to get rid of the junk, you might meet some interesting people, and you never know... they might spot the 'for sale' sign and decide they like the look of your house (or at least let other people know its for sale!).

ETA - rosepink - tetrapaks are the cardboard/aluminium/plastic composite cartons that fruit juice etc. come in. They're not difficult to recycle, they just have to go to specialist plants that are set up for them. In your area you don't have them collected but can take them to the tip for recycling. See here for more details

    Afternoon all

Congratulations Vanilla and welcome Rhys :)

Two loads of washing done, dried and put away. It's quite a cool breeze today but obviously a drying one.

Just cooked egg and chips for dinner and I gave everything a good wipe down after and then vacuumed right through downstairs. DH left vacuum out after rummaging through the understairs cupboard so I thought I may as well use it.

This morning we took the dog over to Wapley woods. She fell over (she always falls over) and did a rolly-polly down the hill and hurt her leg :( But after a couple of minutes she just got up and plodded on. I wish I could be more like her, just keep plodding on without complaining.

Off to catch up again. Feel quite tired after a disturbed night when neighbour woke me up about 3 am crashing about and talking very loudly.

And the best bit is we're never here! Both work two jobs, 60 hour weeks etc.

The cats must have a cannabis farm in the loft.

I think he got a shock when he saw me out enjoying myself, best frock and false lashes on, having a laugh. Think we're going to meet this weekend so either drink after work tonight or maybe a walk and talk tomm. Dunno. Hate awkward situations.
