    Morning all,

    Thanks Pigpen and Toots.

I'm in again, i'll try and get further than Monday this week:rolleyes:. My whole house is a tip and yesterday whilst i was out with OH his ex came over to see the kids ( who were at my house babysitting). I can just see the sneer on her face now as she looked at the state of my house:p. Mind you she's a clean freak now as her bf makes her but she wasn't always. When she left OH bagged up 12 black bags of clothes off the bedroom floor:eek:. To hear her though you'd think she was Anthea Turner.

I'm going to jump in the shower quickly and dress Ds2 then does anyone want to join me in a HHC 10.00-10.30?

    Morning everyone!

Sorry I didn't get online yesterday. Big hugs to Summermoon, Toots, LadyL, SarahS and anyone else who would like one.

I had quite a busy day yesterday - my bruise still hasn't healed much and is still painful to walk, so OH did the driving yesterday. We went food shopping, came home and put it all away, and then my Mum came over and we all spent the rest of the day looking around garden centres to get pots etc to plant the seeds from the BBC Dig in thing and to find a strawberry planter for the strawbs we bought on Saturday. My Mum bought loads of plants, and we got some feed and fertiliser etc to help our plants grow well. I got a grow your own veg set in B&Q (courgette, leek and sweetcorn) that I'm going to set up today - just hope I'm not too late with the planting. We went to dinner at my M&D's again last night, so no cooking for me, and I've even got some leftovers for my lunch.

I'm glad it's the bedroom list today pigpen, as changing my sheets was the only thing that I didn't do on last week's list.

Hope everyone is well today. Anyone fancy a HHC 9.45-10.15? ETA Just seen Holly is doing one at 10, so will join that instead.

Off to find some clothes to put on now.

    sexymouse xx

I take it HHC is half hour clean? If so, I'll join you! I have to pop to the shop for a paper and some milk, so should be ready to go for 10!

there's a temptation to try and do everything but that 'all or nothing' approach is probably what got me in the mess (literally!) I am today, so I'm going to do a little bit at a time.

:rotfl: We have all done it - honestly, we join full of beans and bucketloads of enthusiasm, and then becuase we cant achieve everything all at once, we get disheartened.

Even if you aim for level one every day this week, you still notice a big difference and that way you dont burn yourself out either. When it comes round to that room the next week, add on level two and so on.

I let it go this week due to personal issues and spent most of my time at the gym and focussing on myself, so this week, my house is like a battlefield. You're honestly not the only one.

    Dont worry.

I will just do what I can, and I will get there eventually. So will you xx

ETA (edited to add): HHC is Half Hour Challenge (see pigpens very first post for all the abbreviations) - put some music on and do as much as you can in 30 mins.

IM IN TOO AT 10!!! See if I can get the dishes out of the way that are still there from Sat night! xx

Oops... failed to get up early :o I blame the weather... it's cold and overcast again.

Have had breakfast, so need to get myself dressed, pack my gym bag and get myself over there to make the most of it while its open.

When I get back I'll carry on with the decluttering. I'm making incredibly slow progress on the house, but I'm sure that by the end of the week I'll have both house and garden in a manageable state!

Thanks embb, that does explain it! I've adapted my list now - there's a temptation to try and do everything but that 'all or nothing' approach is probably what got me in the mess (literally!) I am today, so I'm going to do a little bit at a time.

    Morning Lizzys

I know exactly what you mean about an all of nothing approach.... but.... that best thing about these lists is that it focuses your energy in one area at a time. I always found that when the house was a mess I'd dash about, running myself ragged doing say - 100 tasks all over the place. At the end of the day, I'd be exhausted, but there'd be nothing really to show for all my efforts!

This way, you do say - 10 tasks in one area, and then it looks great. Even better, you feel virtuous for having done a room. Then next week, it comes round again, with a variation on the tasks, so a bit more gets done in that room.

The first week, I think we all find that it's hard because each job feels more difficult than if you'd been doing it regularly... iyswim? I remember a flylady saying that she was amazed that loads of us had got the kitchen cupboard fronts cleaned so quickly, but the thing is, that the first time it was done it took ages, the second time it took 5-10 mins. :T:T

Babysteps is the way to go, otherwise you get demoralised. :T

The American Flylady site is a whole different ball game!! :D

    wow

    Hi to all the newbies.

Just remember it is not a race, do what you can and use the lists as a guide, it has helped me no end, now the whole week takes very little time, but it has taken me several months to get it this way, my main thing was getting rid of the clutter, made life so much better
