Thanks xx-Jo-xx - you're right. Time will march on inexorably and I will be back from my holiday before I blink.

Talking of blinking, my eye is a little sticky this morning but it seems to be getting better so fingers crossed.

Will do today's list at some point.

Morning everyone, have been up since 5am due my niece deciding that was a sensible time to wake up and ask the dog if she wanted a walk  So i've walked the dog and made a start on my bedroom - will do the hoovering once everyone else is up and moving about. Plans for today are dependant on the weather - sun will see us head to the allotment but if it's raining (which it looks to be threatening) then i'm going to work my way through all my lotions and potions and throw out any past their best and/or rehome some of the many duplicates i have! Hopefully a day long blitz on it all will help my reclaim/clear the surfaces in my bedroom and the bathroom which should encourage me to use up before i re-stock up :o

Hope everyone's well, thank you for the list pigpen and thanks for the stars and encouragement toots x

Hi all, I've decided to join because I need to!:xmastree::xmastree::xmastree:

I found the Fly Lady site a while back but didn't like the design/font, so never really looked at it again. I'm terribly slack when it comes to housework - the dishes get washed every 3 days if I'm lucky (I've been known to leave them for a week before now!), clothes get hung on the floor rather than on hangers, and I can't remember the last time I washed the floors. I think part of the problem is that mess and dirt don't particularly bother me, plus I live on my own, which gives my 'inner rebel' free reign to do whatever she wants - but I've been here for over 3 years now, and it's time to change! The funny thing is, I love the flat when it's clean and tidy, so it would be nice to keep it that way. And I DO NOT want to end up on 'How Clean Is Your House'!

Anyway, I posted on last week's thread yesterday and Toottifrootti has already kindly welcomed me and explained all the rules, so I think I know what I'm doing. I gather that a new day's tasks are posted each day, so we decide on a daily basis what to do, is that correct?

Also, I'm back at work tomorrow so plan to do a fair bit today (I was up at 7.30 ready to go, and there's already a load in the washing machine - never thought I'd hear myself say that!), but I don't know what's coming up. So if I list what I'm planning today and it comes up later in the week, does that mean I can cross it off for that day? And what if I do some of the tasks for each level but not the rest? For example, I completely stripped the bed yesterday and washed everything, including the mattress cover, and I aired the pillows and duvet, but I didn't hoover or turn the mattress - do I still cross the task off? And I'm planning to dust and vacuum the bedroom but I don't need to tidy the cupboard and I won't have time to do the windows or door frames (I want to sort out the rest of the flat!) so how does that work? I know I'm not supposed to remove tasks just cos I don't want to do them! But surely some is better than none? And how do I remove tasks that aren't applicable to me (e.g. I don't have stairs so no hand rail) - do I just delete them?

And it looks like this is about more than cleaning, as in people list all the jobs they need to do as their 'extras', is that right?

    Thanks!

Morning all. I'm in. I still can't get our bedroom done though, until crib is moved out of the way. I will crack on with other things today and come back to this one I think. Bank holidays are always a bit wonky anyhow - DH home and in the way, couple of hours at the allotment later this morning, then off to a friends for lunch :) This weekend hasn't been at all productive from a housework point of view, but I did quite well last week, so it doesn't matter too much. And we've been having fun instead, which is FAR more important. Took baby to her first hen do on Saturday, and were at her granny and grandads all day yesterday :)

    Morning gang,

Lots and lots to be getting on with flying wise this week. The house looks like the local tip again.

Can't start on the bedroom until Mr Tag vacates our bed so I'll get on with the kitchen for now.

Hope everyones ok and hello to all newbies.
