CS is now based in the Philippines, Used to be based mostly around Scotland/North England, But the Outsource company lost the contract.

They are still in Wales, North East and Scotland. They even opened a new call centre in the north. They use as you say some third party call centres too, they were the ones that are partly abroad. T-Mobile owned call centres are still here.

the problem is not really T-Mobile singularly but the whole situation in UK. There are 5 networks in the UK.... we're not that big a country. The market has become ultra-competive like the groceries market which is already seen as one of the most cut throat in the world. The other competitors want T-Mobile out and trying to step up their gain, while T-Mobile is slowly digging in and stealing trade from them. It is a really bitter battle.

I'd be interested to see how O2, Vodafone and Orange are doing, based on T-Mobile being down 22% year on year. I seriously doubt that they are doing that much better.

UK mobile industry is very interesting, only country in Europe with each network backed by an international teleco parent. None of them really need to give up unless they think its a lost cause.

They just got a new CEO from Orange... and only just a year or so in with their 3G merge with "3" (its not live yet). None of the other networks are doing a merge, even though other european countries are doing this alliance strategy... so the other networks should be worrying too.

The ones remaining in Scotland after this month will be T-mobile Centres I think, TSC had the outsource contract in the UK lost it about 3 months ago due to T-mobile cost cutting. About 100 people at TSC Greenock gone, About 300 at TSC Larbert to go, Not heard about the other sites yet.

All customer services is getting outsourced to the Phillipines etc, with a tiny bit of customer services remaining in the UK T-Mobile owned call centres, and the depts where they want to sell stuff ie sales / retentions will largely remain in the UK.

So I'm no longer working for them (got a new job rather than hang around to be paid off) so my knowledge will be a bit rusty now lol!
I accept no liability if you chose to rely on my advice.
