  • Brill that things are being refunded, keep an eye on it.

Yep, it's very galling to see what these people do with your money. More annoying is that the thieves generally get away with it.

Let me know how it's going, hope you stop seeing money going out and continue to see it coming back in. I'm almost completely relieved for you, nearly there!

Fab, fab, job on pushing it with them today :-)

It's really annoying that they are getting away with it! I called Ryanair yesterday to get them to canx the fraud reservation but the guy at the call centre just couldn't understand what I was saying ! I used to work in BA reservations so I knew what I was talking about, but he just couldn't grasp that I didn't have a res reference number -NO, THE FRAUDSTERS HAVE THAT-THEY MADE THE RES,NOT ME! They should be able to trace (and canx) the res under the card number...in the end the guy just hung up on me ...frustrating or what! I was hoping the scum would turn up at check in and find their reservation cancelled...they've now also booked tix on Clickair, and trains and coaches in Spain too.....
Have had about 10% of the cash taken refunded so far......

  • Fantastic news. Yep, much more straight forward when your card has been skimmed/cloned etc. Glad you got it sorted so quickly, hope you enjoyed a nice glass of wine to celebrate.

Hi, thanks for your reply Angela, I sent the letter off and then i was on holiday but when I got back I was very relieved to find a letter from them saying on this occasion, they would cancel all the money off my credit card! What a relief that was.....

I stated the consumer credit act, threatened to take them to the financial ombudsman, asked for their proof it was me and asked for an explanation of how it took 2 months for them to investigate.

I find it disgusting that you just get fobbed off in the hope that you go away, even though they the law was on my side. It was a Tesco credit card by the way, awful customer service. I only got the blumin thing to get more Tesco points!

Anyway, if anyone else is reading this that this happens to, don't give up! They just want you to go away so make yourself a menace and they'll back down.

Quite some time ago I proposed we had a Forum titled:

    Card Fraud. Help & Advice

This could further be divided in specific headings: (discuss).

The aim would be to provide:

A one stop shop for contributors to these forums to find out all they can about Card Fraud. What action to take if they are victims and other victims experiences (good or bad)

Provide Indications & Warnings of Locations where fraud is taking place.

Latest trends in Plastic Card Fraud and best practice.

    I Like the idea James.

Have you sent the suggestion to site feedback?

I think your suggestion could be a step to incresing customer savvy-ness.
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

    Thanks.

Yes I did suggest something like this but it was kicked into touch.

As more people than every are falling victim to card fraud of all types, as postings in these forums show, I hope this will be revisited and implemented.

    We need contributors support though.
