Theyre fine kitten
Just keep on eye on it. If it still plays up we can look deeper
Internet Explorer. To give you an example of how unsafe it is, a site I used to buy some electrical goods got 'hacked'. Using FIREFOX with NOSCRIPT the page failed to load at all at first
So I (Stupidly) tried IE7 and instantly got infected (Or would have if Avira hadnt realised)
So id suggest changing from internet Explorer to Firefox and NOSCRIPT (DONT uninstall internet explorer though, its needed)
ownload FIREFOX
http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/firefox/
NOSCRIPT
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/722
NOSCRIPT works by blocking ALL website scripts (Which is how dodgy websites infect your computer ~ the easiest way to catch a virus after downloading). So you need to UNLOCK all websites you use for them to work properly (Like this one for example)
It also prevents 'page hijacking' (clicking to goto a BANK page for example and being redirected to a BOGUS page which would give scammers your login details!)
I personally set it so that it DOESNT show messages about blocked scripts. Then all you need to do is use common sense. Think to yourself 'does the site work ok'? If so it doesnt need touching. But if you wanted to watch a video on youtube say, youd need to unlock parts of it. Look bottom right, If theres ANY red on the 'S' symbol, then something is being blocked.
(You will also need the other addons like FLASH etc)

Annoyingly the problem is not fixed.
When I first launched IE this morning it did not respond but like always worked fine on the second launch. It is not the end of the world as it works ok once it gets going just a tad annoying. Any more ideas pleaseThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

I have not ignored your advice about changing browser - I'm female, I need to weigh these things up. Hubbie uses Crome - how secure do you think that is?The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

Chrome uses whats called a SANDBOXIE which means its VERY safe
But if anyone manages to hack it that may change
I prefer firefox with noscript as I can customise everything to my own requirements and I just prefer it personally. I do use chrome myself sometimes. Its certainly quick but im still not entirely convinced of its security features. That said, its still WAY safer than using Internet Explorer
As for IE. Id suggest resetting it ~
1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Click Tools, and then click Internet Options.
3. Click the Advanced tab.
4. Under Reset Internet Explorer Settings, click Reset.:idea:0
