It has been a busy day on here, I had to go to work today so have just caught up with a glass of 'colamax' morrisons answer to pepsi max :D went out earlier to top up our soft drinks supplies and I even walked down the wine aisle at 7pm and didn't succumb yay.....(won't be making a habit of that though, was a close call)

Avanother, you will feel like there are more hours in the day on your af days and you can get loads done, not that I am as it is just too flippin hot phew...well done on your first day :T

Welcome Catty and Eileen, I am a relative newbie, my first month challenge was June and I set too high a goal but was pleased with my end result...good luck to you both xx

Mr sorry Sir BHB I can understand how mrs bhb feels but she really shouldn't, you are both doing your very best for your ds and you deserve some help...Don't worry about not being af today and start tomorrow afresh and jump back on that wagon, your seat is reserved ;)

Well done on your target for July fluffy :Dx

I know you are out and about Budgie but thinking of you xxx

Missy Piggy and piglet so glad to see you back and well done for your productive couple of weeks away (just don't make a habit of it ;)) I keep telling myself to chill a bit more, but I do get wound up by things quite easily sometimes, especially ahem a certain time of the month (sorry tmi) xx

T2GU you are doing so well and organising yourself to avoid the dreaded bells by being prepared x

Netttie thats interesting about the liver, I am finding that even if I have a bad night (like last night, almost a bottle of wine) even though I feel it and feel quite yuk, the day after isn't quite as bad, it's as though my body is dealing with it a bit better iyswim..

RA very interesting about the sugar thing, I have always had a sweet tooth and this definitely comes from childhood, I wonder if there is a link there? the funny thing is, when I drink I can't stand to eat sweet things with it ie wine and chocolate yuk it has to be savoury every time....but when not drinking I crave chocolate/biscuits etc...you have got me thinking now

Hugs to Fay, 40sm and FUAS hoping things are looking better where you are xxxx

ETA whats with the new love heart like it thingy at the bottom of the page?

hi all and welcome Newbies! sounds weird, newbies - it's only my 2nd month. This group definitely gives you good motivation. I did 25/26 last June and am aiming for 20 in July. I too am trying to be a controlled drinker and the liver is the only organ that regenerates itself and it can do that in 3 days so it's worth giving up for those 4 days Mon-Thurs (I do the odd Friday as well)!

    Good Luck everyone :j

I think that is rather fanciful, and if this was true, then many alcoholics could be hepatically healthy after stopping drinking for 3 days.

Though having days of AF is good for you, no one can deny that. However, the key is not to binge or drink your weekly recommended units in the nights you do drink.
Daily units should not exceed 3 or so, so that's a glass and a half of wine

Well done everyone on the amazing results. You are all really supportive and inspirational. This has been my first month on the challenge. When the bells have rung, I've logged on and the support from everyone has kept me (mostly) on the straight and narrow. So thank you. Well done 40SM for doing such a great job keeping score, it must be quite a challenge. Good luck to Jo, you have been and I'm sure you will continue to be an inspiration to us all this month. I can't remember whether I have set my target for July, I think I will aim for 22 days, which will be quite a challenge.

Meant to be having an early night so better go. Night all.
