    Hello eileen and welcome :D

I was the same as you drink wise and am now managing to just drink moderately at weekends only. Never thought I could do it, but it is all going fine, so lots of luck to you :T

hi all and welcome Newbies! sounds weird, newbies - it's only my 2nd month. This group definitely gives you good motivation. I did 25/26 last June and am aiming for 20 in July. I too am trying to be a controlled drinker and the liver is the only organ that regenerates itself and it can do that in 3 days so it's worth giving up for those 4 days Mon-Thurs (I do the odd Friday as well)!

    Good Luck everyone :j

Hi eileen p - I'm new too, this is my first day - there's a few of us brand new ones this month, so lets all hope we can do well.

I now understand the wine bells. I was outside pottering, without my watch on - so no idea what time it was - and suddenly a little thought popped into my head of looking forward to a nice glass of chilled rose later surveying all today's handiwork. Extraordinary, so obviously my wine bells time is around 4.30/5pm - something to look out for in the next few days.

Thanks Jo1972 for doing this month's counting - quite a task to keep on top of I would imagine.

    Good luck everyone for July

Well done nettttie - what a great result. Did you find it easier than you thought it was going to be, or did you struggle at all? I'm only aiming for 8 in July, as I want to take it slowly, but even 8 seems quite a task. I'm hoping Day 2 will be easier having got Day 1 under my belt today.

Just consuming my 10th cup of decaff coffee!! and about to go onto the lime/fizzy water.

I find it works best for me to set a low target anyway, which is why I set it at 10. I have always gone over my target :D and that makes you feel really pleased with yourself, but if I set myself a high target and struggled to get there and failed it would make me think I may as well not have bothered because I failed  IYSWIM :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

:wave:Hi eileen and welcome to the party..

I haven't really had a problem with the wine bells ringing, but what I do now is save my soft drink - juice usually, to have like I would have had wine, so I tend to have my first about 6 -7 pm and then i'm back on the tea by 9.. seem's to work for me... on my af days anyway...!:D

That's really interesting, as I've always considered myself to be a 'savoury' person rather than sweet - I'll always have a starter rather than pudding - but perhaps I was satisfying my sweet tooth with the wine.

Lime juice with fizzy water is proving very tasty during this hot weather - must check how much sugar is in it!

Happy Birthday Lurkio. Hope you have a fab day. Is it going to be easy/ok not to drink on your b/day?

Hi and welcome Ava.... I am allowing myself a glass or two this evening ;) It's tomorrow that worries me... the "oh well, I've broken my duck for this week, may as well continue" thoughts that plagued me last year (remember, Molls? ;))
