It is a very eye opening programme isn't it?

Very . It really opens your eyes to why some people are on the streets through no fault of their own . I am always getting frustrated with how much needs doing to improve our house ... then you see these people.... really humbling. I thought that Lord ( Winston Churchill jnr ) was a pratt though. Have not seen tonights episode yet >

Wasn't that girl lovely last night getting £40 from cashpoint . I hope BBC paid her back :rotfl:

Have a lovely w/e darling . You are doing really well.

I'm a bit p*ssed off, it's funny how drinking can change your mood so quickly, that and watching those people on the homeless thing drinking their life away is awful and sobering (hopefully for me).

My liver is showing signs of damage but I continue to abuse it

I got 2 small kids in bed asleep (and one on the phone to her boyfriend ) that have never ingested anything that can ruin their bodies, they are so pure and clean and I feel so carp and rubbish :(

    Wouldn't mind I'm not even p*ssed

    Hi,
Came home really chipper tonight and then had wine - instantly mood plummeted. Some work gripes suddenly seem un-liveable-with and before I know it I'm researching constructive dismissal and jobseeker's allowance. Everything will probably (hopefully) be ok in the morning.

There must be something in the theory about some people being allergic to alcohol? I swear I feel different after literally a few sips - and not in a good way!

    xx

    Oh Darling Jo

I totally understand what you are saying. But do NOT forget how well you have done this month 23/ 24 ? days is brilliant. Rome wasn't built in a day .... Be proud of yourself ... you have had a drink this month BUT it was controlled and not a total BINGE . I think in the early days we just need to remind ourselves (sp ) that we do not need/want to drink .It is a hard habit to break.

Be very very very very proud of you. You are fab.

    Sleep well hun.

You WILL feel better tomorrow . Only its hard to tell yourself that when you are in that spiral .

Go off to bed sweetie . Sleep is the greatest healer.

I cannot think of anything worse than to know you are alcoholic or have issues with drink, and then still pouring it down your neck anyway. I understand that as I did it for years, but it is madness
That's the insanity of it - it promises so much, yet it is just liquid misery for many. And still we drink. We think it will be better or different this time.

I know for myself , unless I really really wanted to stop drinking (which is different from needing to stop) then I wouldn't.
I carried on, and ignored so many warning signs.

I see lots of denial - that is expected. It's frustrating knowing that I cannot help people - they have to want help, but that's that. As long as I don't drink today, I keep my side of the street clean and tidy, then that's enough for me and graeme goes to bed with a clear conscience and sleeps well:cheesy:

    Thanks 40sm
Have been lurking this past week, but not had time to post until tonight. You're doing a sterling job with the scoring btw.

Sea - so glad to hear things are going well for you, your commitment is really inspiring.

Winebox - missing the jokes, more please!

Missing our lovely Budgie too, but hopefully she's having a cracking time on holiday.

A big hi to everyone else xx

I am really annoyed at myself, a friend was meant to be coming over so had a bottle of wine in and thought 'I will offer it to her and not have any' she then cancelled and I have more or less had the bottle to myself :o

I came on here though and read Jo's and 40sm have done the same tonight and am seriously thinking there may be something happening in the cosmos!! its just weird sometimes when the mood is the same with us all whichever way round (sorry if I am not making sense, as I am a bit merry)

I too watched the homeless programme tonight and am glad I did it was quite an eye opener (agree with Jo about Bruces acting too ;))..That guy though literally using all the strength he had possible to pour that can of beer into his mouth was really sad..but I could sort of understand why he did...

I also agree with Jo about the children being all innocent and stuff, my ds has only just fallen asleep on the sofa, unfortunately he relies on me to be with him when he goes to sleep (luckily my girls aren't the same) my own fault really :o so tonight I was on the sofa with my wine rather than upstairs reading to him and keeping him company while he went to sleep and to be honest it has at least reminded me that it used to be a regular occurence but lately has been much much more rare....

GC you do a heck of a lot for us on here, you really do, please don't underestimate it x Actually I think you could probably write a book of inspiring and grounding thoughts xx

I agree - you are a love, GC. Don't let anybody ever tell you otherwise. Get writing that book!! And Hip, and Bis, and RA, too. And, while I think about it, MP. :T

I'm AF tonight and no wine bells - no choice anyway cos promised to collect DD1 from her restaurant job when she finishes, which could be any time from 11-12:30 - I usually go in my PJs, very glamorous.
