One more wobble in the road. And so much for controlled drinking for me, at least last night. Maybe I just have to give up. Will see and think more.
The books said lapses are part of the cycle.
Ow my head hurts. Bad plan that whole drinking thing. Bad Bad.
Hi WBF, when your head hurts less (soon I hope!) Just pop straight back on the wagon, we have made room for you with a nice comfy cushion and duvet to get wrapped up in with some nice carby snacks and sugary drinks to help
Lapses can be part of the cycle for sure, how do we move on in the cycle to stop the lapses?

In my case I got a short sharp kick up the bum, hopefully none of you will have to go through that to quit/cut down.DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
This is not a joke as such, but love the bottom 'correct answer' bit!!
You are driving down the road in your car on a wild, stormy night, when you pass by a bus stop and you see three people waiting for the bus:
1. An old lady who looks as if she is about to die.
2. An old friend who once saved your life.
3. The perfect partner you have been dreaming about.
Which one would you choose to offer a ride to, knowing that there could only be one passenger in your car?
Think before you continue reading.
This is a moral/ethical dilemma that was once actually used as part of a job application. You could pick up the old lady, because she is going to die, and thus you should save her first. Or you could take the old friend because he once saved your life, and this would be the perfect chance to pay him back. However, you may never be able to find your perfect mate again..
The candidate who was hired (out of 200 applicants) had no trouble coming up with his answer. He simply answered: 'I would give the car keys to my old friend and let him take the lady to the hospital. I would stay behind and wait for the bus with the partner of my dreams.'
Sometimes, we gain more if we are able to give up our stubborn thought limitations. Never forget to 'Think Outside of the Box.'
HOWEVER...., The correct answer is to run the old lady over and put her out of her misery, have sex with the perfect partner on the hood of the car, then drive off with the old friend for a few beers.
God, I just love happy endingsDFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
I've had a word with highways and they've assured me that they are building a new smooth wagon track so it no longer wobbles
Morning Lurks
DC, that's funny cos last night I bought some lime cordial in Tesco, admittedly I was very hungry and very thirsty and was chucking all manner of things in the trolley but I saw the lime cordial and it brought back memories of being looked after after school by a neighbour, she always used to give me the lime cordial. Not even sure if I like it, but bought it cos I could
Day 5 is here, it's certainly easier having a 'reason' to quit, I'm a bit worried now about when he sends me for another blood test in a few weeks and the score on my liver has come right back down to normal (providing it does!) and then things might be harder. Pleased I've quit now as OH is going to Glastonbury in 3 weeks, can you imagine, me, home alone, for 5 days
Gotta go work now, speak to you all later
xx

Thanks everyone, Jo you managed to put a smile on my face on this fragile morning I'm impressed!
Head hurts less. Carbs and sugar and a duvet on the wagon - mmm sounds good. Will have to decide between what I should be having (grapefruit and dry toast) and what I want (thick butter on toast, ideally with bacon) Luckily no bacon in the fridge.
There are days when food and drink seem ridiculously difficult for stuff that's just supposed to be fuel. How did I make it so complicated.
I will not drink today.0 -
