Typing from the phone so excuse the usual one paragraph post! Wish i could work out how to split it up! Budgie, my doc is away for a month but dont know how long hes been gone, locums parting comment was ' see you next week' so i think hes expecting me back! I was thinking maybe when the results come back ill ask if i can get an appt to see him to go through them? Plus i said to him i didnt ever want to come off the vertigo tablets cos thats whats keeping me sober, so think i want to chat about that too. Orchid, post away! I always feel quite boring at parties and wondering when is it time to go home whether Ive been drinking or not! Night night all, a week, who'd believe it! 115K, ignore the spiritual thing, your higher power can be anything not necessarily religious, I hold my higher power as my dear ole dad, god rest his soul :A
He's the one that means more to me than alcohol (so do my kids and family but he's the one I pray to)
Jo , I pray to my darling grandad. I was his favourite. He has been dead more than 20 years but I honestly feel he still looking after me . ( I went to a spiritual reading for a laugh- was told exactly where he lived, the name of the hospital he died in etc - this was done is SE England, my grandfather died in Scotland , so not a random guess ) Sorry , probably too much information !! Spooked the heejeebees (sp I have never has to spell this before !) out of me.

fedupandskint wishing you luck on your job applications, great that you did something positive about your negative feelings.xxx
115k think I might pinch your idea about putting some money away...I do tend to put my change into my christmas pot, but think I need to sort myself out a different one for something just for 'me' ...xx
eselt wishing you loads of luck for that job interview, sounds like it would be sooo rewarding...xxx
on the job front, dh is in a dead end job at the moment but has applied for a trainee paramedic position which I really hope he gets..he applied online and the positions closed on 14th May, not heard anything yet though..
I have managed another af day today :j dh went to my neighbours to watch the game (with his beer) so that helped, my twins were in bed nice and early and he too ds with him although he has now bought ds home to go to bed and he has gone back to the neighbours to drown his sorrows..
I am finding that even though I am not going to bed late and am being af, I am still feeling really tired and groggy in the mornings, but it seems like this is quite common.....do any of you take any suppliments to help with energy at all?
BudgetBabe thanks for your hugs, sending some back your way.. hope you had a great weekend with your lovely son, I have a lovely son too (7 yrs) and i hope he grows up as nicely as it sounds yours has hun.....
Hope everyone is doing ok...keep hoping to see a post from SEA (please let us all know how you are doing)
Orchid , you are such a good poster already . You are surely going to follow in the footsteps of our darling budgie > One of my sons is also 7 , and he is the monkey of the pack ( I have 3 boys 5-9). He is normally the trouble maker , tormenting his brothers. However yesterday as the little one was unwell he was being very gentle and kind > Before he went to bed he said " Mummy do you realise that I have not been told off today - I have finally learn't how to be a good boy:o." Misty eyes. Then there was today  . Boys don't you love them.
Keep up the good work darling .

Sorry for another post, but just wondering, do any of you feel that when you aren't drinking at say a function/party etc. that you are a bit boring? I was at my neighbours barbecue at the weekend and i just felt like I was a bit quiet and that I looked a bit miserable! I tried not to be, but I am thinking maybe it's just because having a few drinks makes me feel more confident? (no brainer) but do you know what I mean? I also kept thinking 'is it time to go home yet'
It might be the reason why the host kept asking me if I wanted a glass of wine and in the end said 'I will put a bottle in the fridge just in case' think I need to work on my social skills!
Orchid.
You have just described me exactly . I am naturally quite a shy person sober but unfortunately after a few drinks I talk so loud that everyone can't but help hear me :rotfl::rotfl:

Orchid, I haven't been taking supplements but was thinking about Berocca for no particular reason apart from I feel I ought to help my body redress the balance. Only it's expensive and I am eating healthy food at the mo so not sure I need it. I was told by the doctor to stop taking iron supplements only I wasn't taking any. And he acted like he didn't believe me either.
Fed up and skint, no job is worth your sanity. Good luck with the applications and keeping calm at work tomorrow. Hope things look better after a good night's sleep.
I managed another one tonight so that's 11/12 for me please BB. I was sorely tempted while out this evening but just had tea. That is the most number of days in a month not drinking I've had for 8+ years
I am still feeling very tired but actually better generally for not drinking. Although I am feeling stronger negative emotions without the booze to block it out. My skin looks better. The lack of energy is being blamed on my low cal low carb diet rather than sobriety.
Well done WBF on your AFDs. Please don't make yourself ill on your carb-free diet . Remember you body is trying to recover from the alcholol , please do not give it too may shocks at once .
Good luck

Hi all- just a quick one (as you can see from the time I can't sleep-again!). Fantastic news Jo and Fay, and Fedup- onwards and upwards and all that. 40 something- your little ones sound adorable, can't imagine what its like to have 3 little boys tumbling round the house- hope the 'bug' doesn't spread..............
Jo- sounds like you've found a compassionate GP, good luck with LFT etc.
Hello newbies, re: supplements, I take multivit, berrocca and kudzu- might sound like a lot but I used to take antabuse, campral, librium, diazepam, citalapram, atenenol and tramadol and I don't anymore-just took giving up alcohol and sorting myself out to get off all this junk and come alive again- I would recommend it to everyone, nothing like living in the real world to get you motivated and be human again.
Good luck everyone.0
