RE the chandelier, I've been looking online. BHS have this one at half price £42.50 and free delivery http://www.bhs.co.uk/mall/productpage.cfm/bhsstore/976679/233054

Still hoping for something cheaper, havent been to any car boots yet, cant go this weekend either so will have to wait.

I need to see more pics for inspiration! How about a couple more blogs for you all

I like this one for all the furniture makeovers she does, Americans do thrift shopping so well http://missmustardseed.blogspot.com/

I like this one also for furniture makeovers and they both have beautiful homes. http://thepaintedhive.blogspot.com/

Im going to strip it down and see what the wood is like under the muck and see if I need to paint, it is for my fabric (Im usually in the sewing room :D).

I live in a 17th centry cottage with my partner and we are slowly doing it up and I just love the country look. We ripped the hardboard off the stair wall the previous owner put on and under it is the old tongue and groove with a tiny window.

I found this seller on Ebay that Im going to get some bits from (the stuff is beautiful, I love hearts :D)

Ooh, I am going to watch Cracking Antiques in bed later, I forgot all about it as DH has football on.

I like that style of bureau, well I love bureaux full stop. Good idea about the laptop too. We tried to see if our wireless printer would fit inside ours but its too big.

That pic is so pretty tara, now step away from Ebay lol

I know that, strictly speaking, this is on the wrong board - but I love this thread and would like to ask for your input :D. (Please moderators - don't move me).

I live in an old stone cottage and have a tiny, L-shaped bathroom which we are hoping to do up. We are replacing the ugly modern suite with a white cottage style one (my sister has just moved and is ripping this one out of her new house :money:) and will buy old fashioned taps, etc. I have a number of pine accessories (shelf unit, toilet roll holder, etc) which could be painted. I have a concertina shower screen to go over the bath.

The main problem is that the bathroom gets quite damp (and mouldy :o) so OH wants to completely tile it :(. How can I achieve a shabby chic/country cottage look with these sort of restrictions?

I have tried Google but just seem to find photos of massive bathrooms with space for chairs and side tables - I barely have room for a linen basket :(!!

I know all you avid shabby chic-ers are full of excellent ideas - so I'm relying on you to inspire me - Please help!!!!!!

    Frugalista :D
I keep popping in & out of here, far too many projects on the go.
How about wood panneling & painting it?
Just tiling as splashbacks & if you have a shower? I always thinks that looks lovely. As does everyone else who suggested it.

I got a wonderful bargain the other day, a Victorian cast iron bedstead. It's so pretty I love it, rust and all.

The curtains, are even more lovely in real life, I thought that it looked like quite a small print, but it's actually lovely great blowsy roses. They are beautiful in fact it all is.
