Thanks cherylsong and shirlgirl thanks for your comments, I love the cupboards, makes the area so much nicer...
Catrobinson I used up some floor edging glue we had left, it's white glue for laminate so I figured it'd be fine for wallpaper on the cupboards, worked fine and saved buying more. I think spray mount might be better if you have some as will be a smoother finish.

Danemi the spreadsheet is in my signature, hopefully will help save some cash. Good luck cherylsong!

Now working on polishing a lovely wooden side table, we don't know what wood it is but it's looking better with woodstain and I will then apply beeswax as well. Also we are stripping a pine bannister which is quite a job but will look lovely...
Off for a few days and will catch up on everyone's projects when we get back x

Is anyone able to confirm what sort of F&B paint i should get?
I'm on the homebase website atm looking through them before I go to the shop. I'm wanting a white/cream for the nest of 3 mahogany tables i've got... just want to ensure I get the correct one?

My plan is to start sanding down tomorrow evening with the easy sand :)

I have used white tie F&B paint and it's a nice off white, not too white and not too cream :D
I used it on my magazine table makeover (see my homepage for pics) :D

I love that stool! It looks like it will be great fun to do up. I really like the finished tray too.

Is anyone shabby chic-ing anything to give as Christmas gifts? I think bunting might make a nice gift- I have a pregnant friend due in Feb so I might make a pastelly one for her.

I've spent the afternoon with a tin of nitromors and the radio. I've stripped the main body of my new unit. I still have the drawer fronts and the top section to do. I've used up the entire tin of stuff so I'll pop and get some more tomorrow morning. I want to get this finished ASAP so that it can go into our bedroom. I can then get boxes or something to put in the top drawer to divide mine and DH's smalls. Then we'll have a drawer each below that. The top drawer is for my make up. I think that the handles are going to give me a bit of a job though as they have been varnished. Hopefully I can get it off and get the haandles lovely now. If not, I may paint them with a silver colour to tie them in with the other metal in our bedroom.

Hello I am a lurker on this thread but have been so inspired by all your fabulous work that I have decided instead of buying a new sideboard/dresser for the dining room I will keep a look out for an old one. Been watching a few on Ebay locally but went to visit the in-laws today and they suggested visiting a local "too good to waste" charity shop near their home. Fil and I set off and I found a fab old dark wood dresser for £30 which is now standing in my garage waiting for its renovation :)
Going to B&Q shortly to have a look at some paints. Wish me luck I think I may need it :rotfl:

Thanks everyone is so friendly on here and it gives me so much inspiration that like you I have been looking at everything in a different light. It's great fun I can see me being hooked :)

I've just been to B&Q and Homebase looking at paints and was wondering if someone could give me some advice please. I priced the Farrow and Ball and couldn't believe the price although I know it will probably give the best finish. Has anyone used the Homebase Sanctuary Eggshell, Laura Ashley Eggshell or even the Crown version? Ta x
