    Hiya

Unfortunately I dont have any tips but youve inspired me :) I have been having debates about updating my rented kitchen cabinets and what a brilliant idea that is!!!! It keeps the cost down too!! Thanks - what a good idea

haha! I think I am just going to buy a couple of plain handles and have a go and see how I get on, and it will also allow me to check they fit/ look good before I buy ones for all the cupboards (think I need 19!) Do it too and let me know how you get on!

IIRC they were just dark wood so I'd go for easy sand which can be bought from B&Q and Homebase for about £7 and lasts for ages. It is much easier, quicker and less messy than sanding if all you want is to provide a surface suitable for painting.

Ohhh that looks good will give it a try :)

Don't post on here usually but always sneak a peek at all your lovely projects.
September's Good Housekeeping had a photo of a lovely cakestand that had been made by gluing the base of a floral china teacup to the base of a china floral plate. The two weren't identical but it made a really pretty item and would probably come within the remit of shabby chic.

Am I the only one who's been watching 'great british bake off' and wondering what kind of paint they've used on all the cooking stations?? They're such lovely colours - I think either farrow and ball or laura ashley but I could be wrong.

Also, I've got a dresser that needs painting. Do I use easy sand, primer and paint or just easy sand and paint?

    Thanks x
Never heard of the great british bake off but anything to do with cooking bores me I'd rather be painting and sewing. :D

Yes you still need to use primer after using easy sand.

Thanks EagerLearner. Not finished it yet but was eager (no pun intended) to share. Just found your spreadsheet. Will be downloading the office thing for my Mac and start using it. Will let you know via thankyou pm how I get on.

meant to add, love the cupboards and I doubt I would be putting the doors back on too.

OOps I forgot to say I love the cupboards. They are lovely but I'm so lazy I can't see me doing the insides of mine.

Hi wonder if anyone can help. Was it on this thread that someone posted a link to ebay for some cupcake handles?

  • Hello,
I am a major lurker on here. I love everything shabby chic but always struggle to find time!!
I am currently painting a corner unit to go in my daughters room.
After seeing the beautiful corner cabinet with the wallpaper inside and the wall cabinets I am tempted to wallpaper in the top display part with the paper my daughter has chosen for her walls.
What does everyone use to stick the paper on?
    Thanks,
    Cat
