I'd like to see the painted kitcen too.

I've finally started and finished my footstool:

    Before - £3 from CBS

After - The fabric is a fine upholstery corduroy and I covered the piping with the ticking to try and tie it all together.

It's not perfect but I think only I would notice that!

I can't post photos, but I have to admit..I got a painter, but I now realise I could probably have done it myself. The eggshell is washable ,and a lot of old pine panelling in another room.
For the record,he roughly sanded it down, then painted it straight on with farrow and ball estate eggshell( be warned-full price is £41 for 2 and a half litres, but I got 15% off that)>He applied it with a small gloss roller.I think it was three coats over 3 days.It still has been a lot cheaper than getting a new kitchen> I am also going to paint over glass wall tiles which completely cover my walls, myself.Bought something called difficult finish primer. It does look so nice now. They are old style units made in dark pinein the 50s.I think I am going to put black knobs on them .
