That's fabulous! Makes them look really old, as though the gilt has worn off through years of use!0 -

I've been a long term lurker on the this thread and have been well and truly inspired by you all. I'd describe my style as Nordic/beach Shabby Chic (but can't resist Cath Kidston!).
I'm going to start painting my kitchen this weekend - well it'll just be packing away and sanding as I've yet to choose the colour.... I've been put off with painting them up to now because they're actually already painted in a perfectly acceptable yellowy/cream colour. However, they are chipped & dirty (impossible to clean) and just look grubby, rather than shabby!!
So can any experts/experience kitchen painters out there recommend which paint is easy to clean. Also, as i'll be painting onto a painted surface, so do I still need to user an undercoat?0 -
Lidl are doing some pretty tab top curtains for 4.99 (one curtain).
For anyone on a total frugal bender, I think two of these, tied back, on a window would look sweet.
