  • euripidesralph - :hello:you've dragged me out of lurkdom now too because I've just got to ask what colour (and the brand would be really helpful!) you painted the rocking chair? It's lovely :) I've been accumulating a few as yet unstarted projects :o, one of which is an ercol stylee sofa that i'd like to paint up in a similar colour to your chair. I figured the painting would be the easiest bit - i'll then have to work out how to tackle recovering the existing cushions!

    Thanks for the inspiration!

Hi Chaosmonkey:hello: its painted in Farrow and Ball Light blue I think its no 22, I have to admit I am a real convert to F and B , it goes on lovely. I had some left after painting some shelves - actually it goes so far half my furniture is the same colour as Hubby insisted for that price I used it up - hes regretting that now cos I have painted everything :rotfl:

I would like to make the seat padded rather than just a cushion but keep getting distracted with other projects

(glad to see another lurker emerge :D took me months :rotfl:)

I am a newbie on the shabby chic thread, just bought a new (old ) house that needs lots of modernisation and updating.I have posted a question on the diy board but so far yesterday no reply, can anyone answer that question for me.

I want to paint old pine wall panelling, cos it looks very dated. Do i need to seal the knotts with that silver paint stuff,or will it be ok to paint it straight awayi,as it is at least 30 years old.I have seen a particular colour of farrow and ball paint on the wall of a local interior design shop, painted over rough wall panelling and it looks fab!Very beach hut,and i cant wait to get started.

I often go to auctions and that can be a cheap source of old furniture.I buy stuff for a fiver that no one wants, very nice stuff too.
