Bibbity, I am soooooo sorry, I couldn;t decide between you and Kandi, trawled through but couldnt find the picture and plumped for the wrong one! Yes it is your paper and it is to die for. I completely understand about you missing it when you go but I bet you will end up with something just as wonderful. If not just buy the same paper again (50% off at the moment). Happy birthday for yesterday. What a lovely way to celebrate - signing up for a whole new life! Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0

Well, I just won this on ebay. I threw a cheeky offer in not expecting to get it and hey ho :T I won. Now I need some advice. I am planning to paint it. I read the thread a little way back that had a link to a site giving advice on refurbishing and it said to use spray paint. I would like to paint it white (then again I might change my mind when I pick it up) but what is the best kind of spray paint to use, preferably a matt finish. I am also going to head off to Laura Ashley because I want some of the fabric that is the same as Kandi's (?) chimney breast wallpaper for it! Sorry if I named the wrong inspirational lady. I think the paper is called Marissa,
just off to do some searching through the thread.
Oh that looks just like one I used to have years and years ago. I sprayed mine with carpaint at the time!! Recovered it with some scrap fabric i had. eeriee as its the same colour as the one I had!
Cant even remember when I moved on, and it stayed somewhere?
On another note, my DGD is going to a little boys party on Friday, he is going to be 3. As she has only just met him at Nursery, I have appliqued his name on a felt bag. But was thinking that maybe to be different I could make him some bunting with his name on? do you think thats OK as a gift? Its years since I have had to think about childrens gifts. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

I'd say that the bag would be enough, but if you want to do something else then the bunting would definitely be a lovely idea! I made some for my best friend's little girl and she has it hung above her bed.0 -
Mooloo how about popping a little car/gift inside the bag as well.0

Just seen this thread for the first time. Usually on Greenfingers of DIY.
Really impressed with a lot of stuff that has been posted and it's given me more determination to find some top buys at CB's, charity shops, freecycle etc. My wife is the really clever one who does the sewing etc (will host up and post some pics later) and I'm the one who does all the sanding/painting of things for her to make look pretty!
I just a brief look in my FlickR and haven't got any pics of stuff shabby chic except for a pic from Christmas with a few homemade bits and pieces scattered around and the new fire I put in! We bought our house in July and have nearly completely renovated it so started from scratch really. We are both 26 and got married in Sept 2008. More pics later/tomorrow/weekened of all of Lowris crafty things0 -

Happy Birthday Bibbitybob!
DH picked up the table and chairs yesterday and it's perfect! I bought some Laura Ashley paint yesterday as it had 30% off but now I don't know if I've picked the wrong colour. I went for "Linen" which to me seemed quite dark but the SA said it came out lighter than the paint card. Anyone found this with their colours? I don't want to open the tin now in case it's too dark.
And I know that this is always being asked but... Just checking, I sand, prime, paint, varnish right?0
